Birch Lodge is beautifully decorated with furnishings from the era. Room was clean and comfortable. The grounds were clean and they offered a variety of activities to choose from. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. If ever in the UP again, we will definitely stay at their lodge. 😊 💛

Birch Lodge is one of the most peaceful and relaxing places I have ever stayed in! The beautiful lake and kayaks, bonfires, lovely perennial gardens, crisp linens, thick towels, water and snacks, nice continental breakfast, lovingly restored historic mansion-sanitarium-resort with a mixologist at the bar made our anniversary weekend a perfect get-away! The friendly staff and owners paid attention to every detail.

Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean. The owner met us at the door and was welcoming and present throughout our stay. Owner had yard games and kayaks available for guest to enjoy as well as a fire pit stocked with wood. The town is very small with only 2 options for dining but that didn’t bother us. Will look forward to staying longer next time. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay.

The room was very comfortable. The pillows and the bedding were super nice. The bathroom was new with that historic vibe. We missed the on site Birch bar but it looked amazing. The Birch lodge is like going back in time. If I am ever going on another trip to the Yooper I am staying at Birch lodge again.

Very satisfied with our room in the lodge and the owners/staff are friendly and accommodating. The lodge has a very interesting history and I loved the antique decor. We took a peek at the motel rooms they also have and those are decorated in 60s/70s theme, clean and large windows that look out to the lake. We may have to try those next time! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Super cool and unique stay. Instead of a pool, you have a beautiful lake with sandy beach! The rooms are super cute and all motel rooms have a lake view. We had a fire at night and nice breakfast in the morning. Looking forward to coming back!

This hotel is a hidden gem. The surroundings are gorgeous and the hotel has a wonderful historic feel, though it’s very clean and has modern features. The owner went above and beyond to welcome us and make sure we were comfortable.

This was the best of the best. Friendly staff, beautiful restored home, lovely stories regarding the past life of the home. Property was amazing, with boats to use, games to play, a firepit, a bar and breakfast in the morning. Rooms are large and private with two to a hallway.
