Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean. The owner met us at the door and was welcoming and present throughout our stay. Owner had yard games and kayaks available for guest to enjoy as well as a fire pit stocked with wood. The town is very small with only 2 options for dining but that didn’t bother us. Will look forward to staying longer next time. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay.

Super cool and unique stay. Instead of a pool, you have a beautiful lake with sandy beach! The rooms are super cute and all motel rooms have a lake view. We had a fire at night and nice breakfast in the morning. Looking forward to coming back!

This was the best of the best. Friendly staff, beautiful restored home, lovely stories regarding the past life of the home. Property was amazing, with boats to use, games to play, a firepit, a bar and breakfast in the morning. Rooms are large and private with two to a hallway.

Historic, rustic, renovated old tb sanitorum with nice periodic decor. Outside needs painting. Beds very comfortable, rooms nice and clean. Hate the Michigan liquor laws where we could not enjoy our beverages of choice in the dining room or lobby. Stayed in our room to drink out beverages and played cards. %

This was an unexpected gem. The main building was built as a TB sanitarium in 1812 and has been beautifully updated with period charm. Sitting on the property is a mid-century motel also updated with period correct touches. It did not go unnoticed that whomever decorated paid close attention to detail. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman, Jack, a border collie, who walked us to the check in door. We were then greeted by a friendly person who told us about the history of the place, recommendations for places to eat in town, the continental breakfast in the morning, and happy hour at the bar. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a prohibition era speakeasy onsite with an incredible craft cocktail list and a great selection of Michigan craft beer on tap. We will definitely be back next year and will tell all that listen to visit.

This historic motel was a great surprise! Great view, super friendly owners, luxury bedding and a cute eclectic antique ascetic. Bar was closed but we were welcome to enjoy BYOB on the porch while admiring the lake view. No television in our room was a PLUS.

This property has two separate places to stay. They have an Inn that is totally gorgeous and a motel that is a trip back in time. Everything was very clean and the staff was fantastic. They were very friendly and willing to help with anything. The property has a lot to offer such as swimming, kayaks, and a fire pit at no extra cost. Plenty of places to sit and watch the sun rise or set over the lake. They also offer hot coffee and a few light breakfast items in the morning. My only suggestion is to bring bug spray. Overall it was a great place to stay for the price.
