While the surrounding scenery and the exterior of the property were well-maintained and beautiful, our overall experience left much to be desired. The lodge we stayed in is situated on a small hill, requiring guests to park on the road and carry their luggage uphill to reach the accommodations; something we found quite inconvenient.
Inside, the lodge felt outdated. We even found cobwebs in the restroom, which raised concerns about the standard of cleanliness.
It’s important to note that this lodge operates under the “Princess” brand, as it mainly serves Princess Cruise guests. This means large groups frequently arrive via shuttle buses, which may affect the overall atmosphere and service priorities.
We arrived slightly early and asked if early check-in was possible, even by just 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we were told it was not allowed due to a system restriction. This was surprising, as most places try to accommodate guests when possible.
Overall, while the setting was picturesque, the lack of convenience, cleanliness issues, and inflexible service helped clarify why this lodge isn’t rated higher than a 4, despite how stunning it may appear in photos.
