  • August 2013 Kaji Say, Issyk-kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan Issyk Kul is an endorheic (i.e. inflow only) lake in eastern Kyrgyzstan. It is the tenth largest lake in the world by volume (though not in surface area), and the second largest saline lake after the Caspian Sea and the second largest mountain lake after Titicaca. Although it is surrounded by snowy peaks, it never freezes hence its name, which means "hot lake" in the Kyrgyz language. It is some 180 km long and 60 km wide, up to 600 meters deep and located in altitude ca. 1.600 meters, very popular for recreation, mainly in resorts on its north shore. Kaji Say is on south shore and more calm and relaxed place. The mountains in picture are Terskey Alatau range of Northern Tian Shan. The lake has some 20 percent salinity compared to oceans. However an ocean for Kyrgyz for sure.

The place is very special with a breathtaking view! The yurts and glamping units are clean with tumble toilets. There is now light or sound pollution so you can enjoy peace and nature.

It was closed even though we reserved and paid over one month ago. We came close to sleeping out in the open air ...... We were finally allowed to stay as reserved but we were almost frozen to death. We skipped dinner and the breakfast the next morning. The restrooms and shower rooms were about 50 meters away from the bedroom of Glamping tent. It was very cold for us to go to restrooms in the night and take a shower in the dawn..... No other choices near the Lake Glamping ik nor restaurants.

Could be good but lousy, over promised sanitation

They didn't deliver a key element of our months-old booking: "private bathroom". They're clearly still working on that for each dome, but at this point staying with them requires a 100m slog through sand to a toilet which consists of a cut-out baseboard over a noisesome pit. The camping dome itself was attractive and well equipped including a comfy bed and effective aircon. Curtains were a bit hard to move though. Friendly local dog but too barky late at night. Breakfast was ok but no bottled water on offer at any point.

There was a dead mouse with flies and maggots in the first room given to me. Attention was lacking. They gave me another room and apologized. There was a live mouse in the next room. Careful with bringing groceries, but this is necessary as no dinner was available. The owner didn’t seem too interested in providing a good experience but maybe it was a cultural and language barrier. I didn’t like the floodlight 100 ft outside my room. Darkness to be able to appreciate the stars fully would be better, but maybe it is a safety issue. Breakfast was good. The dog onsite is playful and means well but can get bitey when playing. Treats you more like another dog. Also, she is a bit rough with the kitten onsite. Overall good experience and i would stay again. Good for what is available in the area, though not the best. We had a private shower and toilet in a side room. Shower hot water was VERY difficult to control. It is right near the beach. 2-3 minute walk and can hear the waves. Nice swings on the beach. Good place. 3.5 out of 5. Check your room. The drapes around the periphery can hide things and difficult to clean under them.

Es ist sehr abseits vom Tourismus. Sehr ruhig, klares Wasser. Zum entspannen ideal. Ohne Auto allerdings sehr schwierig.

Отсутствие адекватного туалета, сервиса и света

1. Туалет - это будка с ямой в земле. Просто дырка в полу, куда лучше вниз даже не смотреть, если не хочется наблюдать фекалии прошедших месяцев. Вонь соответствующая. До этой вонючей ямы надо идти от номера еще метров 60. 2. Туалетной бумаги, когда мы приехали, не было. После этого всегда носили с собой! 3. В душе света нет! Мылись с фонариком. ...Это всё элементарнейшие условия комфорта, которые есть даже в самом дешевом хостеле! С Вас сдерут 80 баксов (для Киргизии баснословная сумма!) за "люкс"-кемпинг, но кроме шатра из клеетки с шикарным видом на озеро (единственный плюс), условия у Вас будут хуже чем в пионерском лагере. Более того: 4. Этот Глемпинг не найти. Не указано ни нормального адресса (08.2023), нигдк нет указателей. Расспрашивали всю деревню и искали 40 минут. 5. Когда мы хотели оплатить, как и указано при бронировании в долларах, хозяин передирал все кюпюры, постоянно жалуясь, что то одна, то другая купюра ему не подходит. Во всем мире доллары в обороте, но вот тут к Вам и Вашим долларам предъявят особые требования. 6. Ни здравствуйте, ни досвидания хозяин этого "Глэмпинга" Вам не скажет. Вобщем, вид и место красивое. Но вонючая яма в земле вместо туалета, без туалетной бумаги, душ без света и полное отсутствие понимания сервиса таких денег, который за ночлег требуют НЕ стоит.
