Unexpected renovations, no toiletries in our room, hidden fees, not all amenities included, and poor communication from the hotel staff made this experience a terrible one. The hotel was doing major renovations during our stay. The entire parking lot and the roads leading up to the hotel were being resurfaced. It was loud and the fumes of the asphalt sealing was making my kids sick and we couldn't use most of the amenities (pool, laundry, playground, etc) because they were eventually blocked off. We were even stranded from our vehicle because they started re-paving between where our car was parked and our room. At no point did any of the hotel staff notify us what to expect or how long the renovating would be going on. We stayed a few days and then requested to leave early. They refused to refund us since our trip was prepaid. They also added an "extra guest" fee because we have a baby. Again, they never notified us of this fee, they just tacked it on after we left and billed us for it. Aside from the construction, the beds were not made and the toiletries were never replenished during our stay. They did enter our room each day to empty the garbage and give new towels, but what good are new towels if we have no soap? I've never stayed in a hotel that doesn't replenish the basic toiletries each day.
