From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful home. The home is cozy, clean and welcoming. I felt comfortable walking through the home and enjoying the shared areas. The staff member was very welcoming and the check in was quick and painless. Our room was spacious, comfortable, well-appointed, had a great view of the mountain. We enjoyed the fresh continental breakfast that was provided. We truly had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the hotel to others. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Choose this hotel as it was convenient en route to our greater trip. What a delightful choice, a 19th century town house tastefully renovated, maintaining it's historical features and charm. The hostess was a pleasure to meet, greeting us with a friendly and helpful manner, giving us information on where to eat along with the history of the building and town. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and clean, the lounge & breakfast rooms were full of character, the breakfast was lovely and we had tea/coffee available at anytime.

Altes Herrenhaus direkt bei der Kirche mit Originaleinrichtung. Die Möbel sind von vor ca. 100 Jahren. Das Bad hingegen ist auf renoviert und auf modernem Standard. Sehr nette Gastgeberinnen und ein super Frühstück. Die Anfahrt durch die kleinen Gässchen braucht ein paar gute Nerven. Ansonsten ein paar Meter weiter weg parken. Restaurants innerhalb von 3-4 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Beautiful hotel in the hills of the Douro

This hotel is a mansion converted and decorated beautifully with antique furniture, chandeliers and has a lovely private courtyard terrace. The hotel is next to the church in town and surrounded by the terraced hills of the Douro region. I could see the hills from my bed, perfect to wake up to. And they serve a typical Portuguese breakfast of fruits, breads, jams, meat and cheese. The hoteliers were very helpful and kind to let me check in early, since my train arrived at 1pm. It was excellent to have a shower in the spa like bath with rainshower head and then use the provided robes. Very much a 4*, I'd give it 4.5*

Charme and old style class.

Ring the bell at the door out on the street and a smooth and luxuary world opens to you. This is a magic hotel. Old charme with a touch of class. I did really love my stay. It felt like going back a houndred years with just positive meanings.

What a fantastic place to stay. This has to be the best out of the eleven hotels we have started in during our trip. The rooms are beautiful. The common rooms are old fashioned elegance at is best. It should be five star.
