Great location and very affordable. The rooms had character and felt safe.
Be prepared for it to be bit noisy because of the old character of the building.
Quiet place
I've got a problem at check-in with the payment and they were super understanding. Charming and lovely place. Nothing much but for a few days and for the price it was worth it.
Near tram station and 10 mins walk from the Queens park subway station. Not so far from the Eaton centre by walk. Food at 5 to 10 minutes by walk.
Just one thing I didn't like was if you wash on the shower near the window people outside might see you because the certains isn't wide enough. But, end of June, there weren't many people so I only used it 1 time out of 5 and it was only because someone flooded the other one(I was on the 1st Floor on the west door)

I visited in mid-August, during one of the warmest heat waves of 2025. As such, I was SIGNIFICANTLY affected by the lack of air conditioning (of which the college had made me aware on multiple occasions). While the rooms do have ceiling fans, the one in my room was not balanced properly, as it made a constantly irritating and disruptive noise (regardless of the speed setting). However, when set to the highest speed, the noise made it seem like the whole unit would come loose from its housing and decapitate me. As such, I had to settle for the second-highest speed, the noise of which still prevented me from getting even one good night's sleep during my stay.
Otherwise, my stay was perfect! Many of the buildings (including the residences) on campus are older and really beautiful. Part of the residence was open weekdays during the summer, allowing guests to tour the beautiful chapel upstairs.
Location is not bad, about a 20-minute walk west of downtown. Some people might find this a bit inconvenient but, since I walk everywhere, it didn't bother me at all.
Long story short, the residence is a great option, provided the weather cooperates, you enjoy walking, and you have a working fan. ;)
Great place to stay at a decent price. I wouldn’t recommend it during a heat wave, but it’s great if you enjoy historical buildings and architecture.

It's a student dorm so don't expect luxury BUT the bed was comfortable, the building and the area are charming and the staff were friendly. Would stay again.
Knox Residence University of Toronto offered me an affordable, unique accommodation in a very convenient location. The ambience and atmosphere of the residence is excellent, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would be happy to recommend Knox, and hope to be able to stay again in the future.
The residency locates within the UoT campus in St. Georges, which is super convenient.

It was great except the room was hot with no air conditioning. You can't sleep well at night when it's 26 degrees or more but very clean and friendly staff.
Student residence in downtown Toronto. Bargain accommodation convenient to everything in the area. Two 'watch-for' items: 1) bring towels & toiletries and 2) no air conditioning.
Quiet, clean and very affordable option for an expensive city.
I loved all of it, how secure and quiet it was, the staff were amazing, the property itself was beautiful, and everything was within walking distance. The only things I didn't like was that there was no AC as it is an older building (i was able to borrow a fan though), no elevator for those staying on a higher floor and the women washroom was on the second floor (i was on the first)
all in all though I had a fabulous stay and would stay again!
It looks like hogward. Helpful staff, good location, easy to get to downtown. Very very cheap washing machines in the basement. Less then 2cad/load (no detergent provided). Cheap, simple, provide everything what you need to conquer Toronto.

I stayed at Knox Residence for three nights. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location is excellent, about 5 minutes walk to metro 1 and 10 minutes walk to metro 2. I enjoyed the stunning architecture and the small beautiful darden as well. The only thing I don’t like is there is no air conditioner in the room. I stayed there during heatwave, it was very hot.
The staff was really good. The cleaning staff did there best to keep things clean. People staying there put lots paper towel in toilet which made it hard for staff to keep things clean. I had no issues other then it doesnt say in listing u need to bring your own towel pls be aware. I am staying here again in couple days.
I stayed here off and on throughout summer.Basic Simple place. Older historic building. Microwave n fridge in common area. Laundry. The only thing to keep in mind not much food access around. I walked everywhere u can take ttc. Security good there i felt really safe. Will be booking again next year.
This is a great and cheap option for solo travellers in Toronto. The location is great and close to public transportation. The room was clean and it felt very secure over all. The ladie's bathroom was on a different floor than my room, but it didn't bother me as it was right next to the stairs. I was pleasently surprised by how comfortable the bed was. Be aware there is no air condition, only a fan, so it can get a bit hot in the summer, but at that price for a private room in Toronto - it is a bargain
About 15 minutes walking distance from the subway station, this is a very beautiful, antique building to stay in.
As noted in the description there is no air condition so it can be quite humid during the summer, otherwise all is good.
Laundry is also available in the basement, note that payment needs to be made by card (not cash), and you will need to bring your own detergent.
Toilet and shower are shared and you will need to bring your own towels and soap.
