Disappointing

I came from Florida to Toronto on a solo trip. When I arrived here I had to wait 20 min to get access to my room because I was never sent instructions. I was told to use the key pad, which was finicky and then a guy saw me struggling so he helped and was actually able to push the door open. It was not even locked. (I told the owner this and no response- not safe!) I packed enough clothes to last me a few days because it clearly states under the amenities that you can do laundry during your stay. HOWEVER. That’s misleading. In fact, the owner never messaged me back when I asked. Totally ignored me. So I called him that afternoon and he asked if I could just wait till I left.. I was there for 5 nights.. and packed lightly. So no. Then he said it would “logistically be difficult” since it’s in the basement and you can only do laundry if you stay in Room 1. THIS SHOULD BE SPECIFIED. Just saying. So, again, he never called me back so I called and canceled the rest of my stay and moved downtown. Bad customer service. I was very excited about this house. It’s a cute Victorian house with a cute room. but my experience was crap. Oh, the areas is SUPER sketchy at night. Don’t be out by yourself. Just spend the money and stay downtown!

The house was fairly easy to find, and everything inside was clean and comfy. Price very reasonable as well. The area does become a bit sketchy at night so be mindful, but overall great experience

My stay was ok except I couldn't get any work done cause the WiFi didn't work at all and that got me in a lot of trouble at work. Couldn't get my presentation done and couldn't do anything really.

The interior design was nice, and the decoration is good. However, it was not a good experience. This "Hotel" uses a self check in process similar to AirB&B, but the check in process and the pin code was not send to me and we had to stand in the cold to wait for the owner to respond. There were no hot water when we arrived, we had to turn the furnace on ourselves and wait for the water to heat up. The place looked clean at first, but there were flies everywhere and we also found cockroaches in the kitchen area. The place was advertised as $59/night for our night of stay, however an extra $60 was charged to property fee, doubling the price and brings to total to $120 after tax. We could have much better place to stay with that price. Overall its a terrible experience, would not recommend.

First off, neighborhood is very rough. I'm thrilled this property was dog friendly as my protection- trained shepherd was a great reassurance. My husband and young son were supposed to visit my second night, but I told them to stay home. The air conditioning did not work for the 3 days that I was here. I asked the supplied number, attemped to fix but did not. The bathroom was missing a screen and the shower was mouldy. Long hair in the bathroom was not mine. Beds were clean, parking space was filthy but adequate.

This was all we needed - great location, wonderful kitchen facilities, very clean room, very reasonable rates. Many thoughtful amenities in the room including toiletries not usually found. Contact with the owner was quick and instructions concise. Only concern was the front door was not locked when we arrived - this would be on the last person who entered or left.

We had 400$ stolen from our room and nothing was done in regards to that the manager said he'd give us another couple days but suddenly said it's check out without notice doo now I'm homeless and it's like-30°c out

EXCELLENT BUT DIFFICULT LOCKBOX ENTRY

Excellent and I would highly recommend, however, it could be EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING trying to use the lock box outside in the cold when it is dark and snowing, and it is not clear as to how to open it once the combination is in. Owners could simply give more explicit information as to how to open the lockbox (press down lever immediately left of the numbers and pull toward you) otherwise, you could be out there in the cold for hours trying to figure it out.

Amazing Victorian in Toronto perfect location

This home is Beautiful. The Room was clean. We had everything we needed except the iron. it was not there when I looked for it, wasn't there when I asked for it. I texted back and forth and even sent a 360 photo of the basement where I was told to look. Funny thing was the day I was leaving it appeared on the shelf, as I was walking out. our stay was for 4 nights and five days. We would definitely stay there again. I would even go back to rent all three rooms. the setting is very comfortable and the pricing is perfect. Thank you.

I was warned by a solid seeming man that I should not be outside on the sidewalk alone waiting for my taxi to arrive. H told me that that immediate neighborhood is very dangerous after dark. He said he himself doesn’t;t stay outdoors after dark there. I cross-checked this with 2 local taxi drivers and they agreed that this is a very dangerous block, as is the block behind it. I moved to another place the next morning.
