We would do it again in a heartbeat!

My daughter and her now-husband shopped far and wide for the perfect place for their wedding and the Circle S was just that -- perfect. We filled the 12 room guest house for 3 days with family and very closest friends. We were fed and pampered day and night. Hired school buses shuttled the big crowd to and from Lawrence hotels. Circle S staff fed them, too. Everyone loved being in truly rural Kansas. The setting was idyllic. The accommodations were ideal. There was so much space that everyone could make themselves comfortable indoors (air conditioned) and out (rock band and fireworks far enough away from sleeping rooms that no one minded). Our photos and videos are so fabulous that we still thrill to see them months later. Buffalo. Starry nights. Luxurious extras like fresh flowers and chocolate dipped strawberries in our rooms. Open access to store our own groceries to supplement the good food we were served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Immaculate rooms. (No closets!) Exceptionally lovely decor and design with clever extras like a galvanized shower stall in one room and an extra indoor living area with a stocked fridge. Super-helpful staff, early morning to late-late night. No detail was left untended. It was an amazing place celebrate a wedding. Now, I want to take a bunch of girlfriends to the Circle S for a slumber party!

Great get-away

AJ the manager met us when we arrived and ensured our comfort for the stay. Mary the owner was available and assisted us with anything else we needed. Wonderful bonfire on Saturday night- clean and comfortable rooms- highly recommend the Circle S Ranch. We will be going back for sure.

Rooms, terrible; food, excellent; view, gerogous

1st room we were in had a hole in the door with scotch tape over it; the tape wasnt even sticking anymore. Along with that there was a 1 1 ½ gap at the bottom of the door I We were down graded to a smaller room, little lighting and a ceiling that leaked. Yes I said leaked whenever the person up stairs took a shower. 1st morning I was awakening at 6:32 am; we did tell someone at breakfast she said oh we must have forgotten to tell them to shut the shower door all the way; she was going to address that issue. Next morning we were awaken at 4:24 am water leaking again from the ceiling. Im pissed both mornings because they new this and didnt tell me. Breakfast wasnt until 9 am so I starred at the walls until then. I asked them to empty the water out of can; I left it outside the door just in case I was not around. No one emptied the can from the first leak but remembered it at check out time. As we were checking out one of the ladys said this is the one I told you I wonder what her review would say. So she knew they could have done better to accommodate us. With the unwelcome wake up calls from the water they didnt even try to make things right, had they done that I would have put that in the review also. On another note the staff was excellent to accommodate at mealtimes. The massage was excellent. Jason, Mary, Stacy and I dont know the younger ladys name but they made the stay a little bearable. It was a quit place that my husband and I got to spend one on one time with one another. I loved that part of it. The views were awesome to take in and some of the other guess had issues with rooms but we made the best of it. I enjoyed the other guess that stayed at the inn even though it was out of my comfort zone. I dont think I will be trying another BB anytime soon, my husband says never if it is like this one.

Dirty and overpriced!!!

My husband and I were given a gift certificate for Christmas to stay at this ranch. We had scheduled to use it this past Friday, 7/21/13. I no longer have the gift certificate, but it was somewhere in the range of $270.00. We checked into the ranch around 5pm or so and was taken up to our room. We had chosen the Celestial room because we were told that was the only room available when I made the reservations. Seeing as how much the room cost a night, we were excited to stay and expected great things. However, when we arrived, we were highly disappointed. The overall atmosphere of the place seemed ok, but the room was awful. The first thing we noticed was the room was hotter than hates. It had a tiny window AC unit to try and power a big room, on the 3rd floor in the dead of summer. The carpets had stains all over it, the bedding appeared as if it was from the 80's and dingy looking, the baseboards in the room looked dusty and dirty, which to me indicates that it doesn't get thoroughly cleaned and I know this should not be that important, but no TV. I could have lived with no TV if everything else would have been up to par. We did not feel comfortable walking around there barefoot, let alone anything else bare. So, we left. We immediately went down to the receptionist girl and turned our key in. I would think for a room that costs almost $300 a night, it would have been a lot nicer of a place to stay. I am sure at one point in the ranch's history, it was a nice place to stay and worth $300 a night. However, it appears as if no upkeep or maintenance has taken place in years.

Home away from Home

I took my husband there for our 2nd yr. ann. and we enjoyed ourselves so much I don't want to miss an event they have. We already book a dinner and walk through the garden in May. It was so homie and comfortable, and I could get used to not cooking. Everything was nice even the other guests.

Poor Customer Service

Granted this is a beautiful place as I have been there before and would have had my daughters wedding here in 2011 if it had nott been in December but I experienced Very poor customer service today. I purchased a Groupon offer this week and before actually purchasing it I called the Inn to make sure the weekend I wanted to stay was available and included ( no blackout dates were listed on Groupon) . I was assured my weekend was available and , menus were sent to me for the Valentines Dinner and my reservation was made. Today I receive an email stating that the employee had made a mistake and that the owner said that they couldnt possibly let that room go for the Groupon price that weekend . I attempted to schedule another weekend all day long through email but each time I chose another date the room was gone . No attempt was made to actually CALL me on the phone before reserving the room to someone else to make sure that I wasnt choosing any of the dates available that had JUST been emailed to me !! In the end I have cancelled the Groupon and received a refund. I will NOT be looking at the INN as an option for my second daughters wedding .

Fantastic get away!

My wife and I had a fantastically calm time at Circle S. The place is just ~20 minutes away from the city, but far enough to lose cellphone signal. Perfect to just get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city with very few interferences. It's been too long since i've sat in a comfy lounge chair with a good book. The staff bent over backwards to keep us happy, and everyone was very pleasant (even the dog!). One night, me and my wife had a very relaxing time just sipping complimentary margaritas while figuring out a jigsaw puzzle in front the fireplace! The food is amazing as well. The chef is very gifted, although the buffet style meals leave much to be desired. We had a pasta meal prepared just for us and it was AMAZING. I would say it was the best pasta i've ever had (and my family is italian, sorry mom!).

Thanks for such a wonderful time. My special lady and I had a great time there. Very beautiful and the staff was amazing. They even went the extra mile and mailed me the phone charger we left in the room. A unexpected but very appreciated deed. Thanks again and look forward to spending some time there in the spring and not when there is a foot of snow on the ground!

Wonderful relaxing weekend

My husband an I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the inn! The staff was friendly an made our stay very relaxing for us! We enjoyed long walks, picnics, an wonderful evening dinners by the fire! The circle s ranch is a great way to getaway an forget about all the stress in our daily lives! I would recommend to any of my friends an family to come stay here!

Incredible Place!

If you can not afford to leave the state of Kansas for a romantic getaway, you MUST go to the Circle S Ranch! This place is AMAZING! It is beautiful, relaxing, open prairie land, animals like buffalo, horses, ponies, and long horns! The food is out of this world! There are fireplaces and 2 person Jacuzzi tubs in the huge rooms! And there is even a Jacuzzi in the Silo attached to the Inn. Most Amazing place in Kansas for sure! If you are looking for a wedding, corp event, family reunion, or girls weekend the Ranch is where I would go. Outstanding place!
