"First things first... this is not a 5-star hotel and we didn't expect it to be. Much like other travelers, a clean and comfortable room is all we seek during our stay. 1. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. 2. The hotel staff was very friendly. 3. The continental breakfast was good, but nothing to brag about - aka... free! I did express some concerns with the desk clerk when we checked out, most of them having to do with basic maintenance, door knobs loose, sink not draining, HVAC unit cover taped on instead of being installed correctly, and finding black mold around the tub area has been covered with another layer of silicone caulk instead of being removed properly. The shower curtain was stained, not sure if this was due to the rusted shower rod or the humidity, and loose water faucet handles. The glass lobby door has a defective closer unit... so the door would slam anytime someone would go through the doors. The rain gutter on the car port was literally hanging off the building (needed a few screws to secure it). Would I stay here again, sure... but I would definitely check the bathrooms for better maintenance."

"It was awkward getting to our room due to no elevator and carrying luggage downstairs. Also it was hard to get to the lobby to the hallways It was actually easier to walk outside the continental breakfast Had limited offerings the rooms were large and very comfortable The hotel was very quiet. Although we were there on a Sunday to Monday, the grounds are beautiful. The view from the room was very nice. As was the balcony"

"Very clean room. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast great. Check in was easy. Only thing that was inconvenient, the TV had a timer so would go off and the remote did not do the volume. Also, the AC would cool, but then sort of went on a lock out so would have to be restarted. Those things would not stop me from staying again. Also, there isn't an elevator, so if steps are not your friend, like me, might want to go elsewhere."

"The high number of stars for this hotel must be due to the location. And what a location it is! A beautiful deck overlooking Lake Nokomis, a fire pit, and beach along the shore. Absolutely beautiful. However, the rooms themselves were fairly old and tired, although perfectly adequate. The bedspreads were frayed, the mattresses - though comfortable - sagged, and the toilets were so close to the floor that my 80-something mother had a hard time using it. There were also a lot of cracked tiles in the bathroom. But all in all it was a great place to stay and to be right on the lake was idyllic."
