ReLabo-Medical Spa&Stay-
8/10 Good
"The location was the key point for me. Located at the Aomori Station was so convenient. Just exit at the east gate and the lift lobby is at the foot of the escalator. The bus station on location provides easy access to anywhere you want to go, along with a convenient mall, which has dining options as well. The only gripe is that the room is a little small for 2 pax, with a queen size bed with one side lined up against the wall - there are no king size beds as far as I know. If possible, do request for an east facing room as the afternoon sun was already quite hot in early May. Did not try the spa packages, but it’s supposed to be known for that in that region. Japan hotels are notoriously missing gyms, so it was quite a pleaaant surprise to find one with not just treadmills but also free weights up to 20 Kg. The staff was very helpful and they have a great translation screen over the reception which can help tremendously when communicating your requests should you find Japanese challenging. Overall, I like the place especially for its location and staff."

APA Hotel TKP Sendai-Ekikita

"Good value and location. Nice Minor issues: Amenity packs didn't contain coffee and creamer, but they were available from the front desk. Laundry dryers very slow, we dried items in the room. No under bed storage was a big issue, as I expect it from APA."

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Aomori
6/10 Okay
"Very well located a couple of blocks from Aomori station. Typical Japanese business was hotel that work very well but if it is your first time, be aware of self check in, self check out and you have to manage even when your room will be cleaned. Excellent breakfast with lots of choices mostly Japanese, but also western!!! The best!!!"

"Great location !"

Hotel Monterey Sendai
6/10 Okay
"We've stayed at the Monterey hotel chain in various locations & a few times at this specific hotel. In the past, it's 5-star rated but this time, it could hardly 3 stars: - The room was dated & overdue for a renovation - Maintenance: the main door lock didn't work, we had to rely on the secondary latch to secure the door. - Staff helpfulness (or the lack of): on Tue 19/May around 07am, we asked a front desk lady to help us send our luggage via Yamato to the airport & were advised that it must be done at the train station. We did just that & learned that it could have been done from the hotel. - We stayed 4 nights & enjoyed breakfast the first 3 mornings on the 3rd floor. However, on the 4th morning Wed 20/May, the breakfast on the 5th floor was reeking with cigarette smell - the smoke was so strong impacting the quality of an otherwise very nice breakfast experience So far, whenever in Sendai, we'd try to book this hotel, but this experience has changed our position"

Hotel Grand Bach Sendai
10/10 Excellent
"Book here if you want a modern, clean "western" style hotel that punches above it's weight. Insane value. Clean rooms, and lots of amenities with a nice public bath on the top floor. Very polite and helpful staff with an organist who plays in the lobby during midday. High quality breakfast. Afternoon snacks and a small evening meal (9:30pm) are included. The construction is very new and well maintained. Would recommend, even the more basic accomodations I selected were better than I expected."
