  • It takes 1,000 butterflies to weigh one pound (.45kg), and the branches on this tree were sagging under the weight. The monarch colony here was quite different than at the more popular El Rosario sanctuary. 40 minutes outside Zitacuaro, near El Capulin, we chartered a couple of tiny mountain horses to take us up the rugged path to view the colony. The monarchs were clustered within a ravine, swirling around a few choice pine trees in search of sunny roosts. Whenever the sun went behind a cloud the butterflies scrambled into the air and back to the safety of the nucleus, knowing that settling down for the night outside the warmth of the colony would mean certain death.

    Arturo was very attentive. He paid attention to our needs. Nice spacious room, but the property was near by somebody having a very loud event. Kept us awake until early hours of the night. (1:30 am). Other than that it was a nice stay.

    The manager, Luis was available to help with laundry and use of the kitchen. He even gave us a ride to a local mine museum and showed us other unique sites. Overall, a great host. The cabin was simple, but worked out fine and the outer courtyard was well-tended, peaceful and a great place to eat and relax.

    Terrible experiencia, al llegar un señor muy grosero, no quería recibir el pago con tarjeta alegando que no tenia papel la terminal, al fin hizo el cobro y la terminal si tenía papel, luego, la habitación que reservé era una cama matrimonial y en las imágenes se mostraba un pequeño comedor y un frigobar, el señor que nos recibió alegó que no nos podía dar esa habitación ya que estaba reservada por alguien más de expedia y nos asignó una habitación totalmente diferente con dos camas individuales, la habitación olía a gas ya que afuera estaban los calentadores de agua, escribí al hotel o quien lo administra y me respondió que le diera mí teléfono y que si quería me cambiaba a otro hotel en el centro, pero eso representaba cancelar las actividades que ya teníamos programadas en el lugar, por lo que no me era posible aceptar el cambio, al día siguiente el mismo señor que nos recibió tocó la puerta de la habitación insistentemente a las 10:00 am diciéndonos que nos debíamos retirar a las 11:00 ya que tenía rentada ya esa habitación, siendo que el check out estaba establecido a las 12:00. No recomiendo en absoluto el lugar, lamentable experiencia.

    1. El personal no nos permitió usar la piscina, según por que la iban a aspirar, dijo que podíamos usar todas las instalaciones pero la piscina no. 2. El refrigerador en pésimo estado y roto, cada vez que se abría se venía todo, la puerta no tenía soportes para bebidas, estaban rotas, congelador no tenía puerta 3. Olor a gas insoportable, el personal dijo que no nos preocuparnos, que era gas quemado por el boiler. 4. La cabaña olía a humedad terriblemente, tuve que ir por un aromatizante, porque era insoportable. 5. El personal amable, sin embargo no resolvieron nada. 6. La propiedad no está como la muestran en las fotografías, sin duda es muy engañozo. Agradecemos al señor Arturo quien se mostro1 muy amable, sin embargo una sola persona no puede hacerse cargo de una propiedad de ese tamaño.

    El lugar es un conjunto de cabañas, en la seleccionada hubo refrigerador, microondas y estufa, además de cama y baño. El lugar tiene áreas verdes donde puedes disfrutar del ruido del agua y viento. Perfecto para viajar en pareja o con la familia. Cuenta con alberca, aunque debes solicitarla antes para que este disponible.

    La cabaña estaba helada y no había calefacción. El baño tenía goteras y el baño tenía un charco de agua. La cafetera estaba sucia y no había posibilidad de preparar café.
