Pleasant staff, nice and modern and clean hotel and rooms. The rooftop pool makes it a great place to stay. The hotel is a big pit of the city so you need to catch a bus or taxi or drive in to see the sights.

This was my second stay here and probably not my last. The location is perfect for a relaxing day between travelling due to the easy access to the bus terminal and just a short ride to the airport. The pool area is perfect for chilling and the restaurant have good food (probably the best qofte I have ever had) and very nice staff. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable.

Mercure Hotel is a clean, well-maintained property. It's located near a major intersection on the western outskirts of Tirana. There are two things I liked about the hotel. First, it is clean and new for the price range. Not fancy, but I did not experience any inconvenience during my stay. Second, the breakfast buffet was really good, much better than most four-star hotels in Western Europe. In addition to eggs and sausages, they had vegetable dishes, mushrooms, various kinds of cheese (not just European cheese but also more Middle Eastern cheese), five or six different kind of jams, different kinds of yogurt, fresh fruit, bread, and more. There is also an absolutely pleasant female worker there. She greets every guest and asks how we are doing in a super cheerful manner but not in an annoying way. She was a delight to see every morning. The hotel should give her a big raise! The most serious drawback I had was the location of the hotel. Because it's outside the main area of the city, there are so few restaurants to go out for dinner. I ended up eating dinner at the hotel, which was very disappointing unlike the excellent breakfast. I think they microwave everything in the kitchen, which is really problematic for dinner that pretends to be a bit fancy. So if you stay here, make sure to eat in town before coming back to the hotel.
