"For my last night on the road on the way to Frankfurt I thought I would stay at a traditional German pub/pensione and so this was it. When I arrived there was a sign on the door saying closed until the 1 March at 5.30pm. The whole place was shut up and chairs were on the tables inside the pub. I managed to find a phone number for the place and rang and a young man attended after a few minutes from down the road. It was closed but there were people staying. I would have loved for the pub to be...

Top Thuringia Hotel Reviews

Hotel Krämerbrücke Erfurt

10/10 Excellent

"Excellent breakfast. Excellent location. Nice modern rooms."

Limehome Jena Teichgraben

10/10 Excellent

"Conveniently located in the center of Jena, right next to tram and bus stops, a supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. Beautiful views of buildings built in 1800s and the modern Jena Tower. Within 10 min walking distance to many destinations, such as the Zeiss Planetarium, Observatory, cathedrals, etc. Very clean rooms, spacious bathroom, fast internet."

NYX Hotel Erfurt by Leonardo Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"I love the location and the room. The staff at the desk were excellent for checking in and advice on restaurants in the area. The bar staff were rude and standoffish as they ignored me and refused to change the channel on the tv when no one was watching it. I finished my drink and left when I would have stayed longer if they were more courteous and helpful."

Hotel Alma Am Anger

8/10 Good

"The hotel was a much longer walk than 4 minutes (unless you are a giraffe) and it was not easy to find because there seems to be many streets that are poorly marked or unmarked. I received help from a very nice teenage couple who used their smart phone to finally find the hotel. I would consider staying there again but I would also search for other hotels in that city."

Vienna House by Wyndham Thüringer Hof Eisenach

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was very clean. Staff was very friendly and bilingual. Room was very large and had a massive window over looking the city. No AC in the hotel but the large windows open and the cool night air was enough to cool off the bedroom at night. Would definitely stay again. The town was magnificent."

MAXX Hotel Jena

8/10 Good

"Rooms need either air conditioning or better ceiling fans. When it gets hot, there is no way to get proper airflow. If you open the windows, the insects will come inside your room. Please also add a microwave to the rooms. Shower was clogged with hair and the water could not evacuate. I had to unclog the shower otherwise the water level would have risen and gone into the bedroom area."
