"We stayed there for 13 days. The first 9 days were awesome—great service, perfect location, and a good price! So, we decided to extend our stay by 4 more days. That’s when the problems started.
During our first 9 days, the hotel was busy. But after the large tourist groups left, the hotel began turning off the air conditioning at night for the next 3 nights. "the location is very convenient especially to me who needs to be accessing the JiangWan campus of FuDan University often. There is a mall within 10 mins walking distance with required supermarket and F&B, which made the location even more ideal. The room (double bed) is very specious and well-maintained. the breakfast has a good spread of variaty also. Good value for money hotel that i will come back to, if i need to be in the area again."

"I had a very comfortable stay at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong. The rooms are spacious, the beds are extremely comfortable, and breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and consistently high quality. Service throughout was outstanding – attentive, professional, and always helpful.
Transport was the only real challenge. There’s no metro nearby, and during peak hours many taxi drivers don’t want to cross the river. I found the ferry to be the best option – quick, reliable, and a nice way to get across.
Overall, the hotel delivers on luxury and service. If comfort, great food, and top-class hospitality are your priorities, it’s an excellent choice."

- Incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating host (Samuel who was there to receive us at midnight as our plane delayed 2 hours & Lisa)
- right next to Line 8, Anshan Xincun station
- right next to small mall with supermarket, restaurants and coffee joints
- walking distance to another mall and convenience stores
- direct access food court (B1)
- nice sized fridge with plates and cutlery
- really good air conditioning system
- washer dryer 2 in 1
To take note of
- Toilet bidet wasn’t working for us
- need to really balance the usage of hot water (it was ok for us as only the kids showered with hot water while we adults used cold water
- water pressure dropped drastically at certain hour (believe it’s related to peak hours when more residents in the building was using the shower at the same time)
- mattress was so-so for me, could feel the spring at some angles (2 out of the 3 beds had a extra topper on top)"
