Great getaway

Place is beautiful the couple who runs it will do anything for you.Excellent cook in tour guide. The road to their cottages is a little long but worth the effort.

The room and surrounds were clean and the gardens well kept and pretty. Further afield lots of wildlife. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful with guidance about local activities and attractions. Great breakfast and evening meal, tasty and varied. Would love to revisit. Very enjoyable 3 days.

Tranquil spaces and beautiful views

Its a nice place set in a beautiful location, with fabulous views. The 2km gravel drive up to the place is not great for small cars but a bakkie or 4x4 would be fine. I didn’t take pictures of the room because I think I booked the last one so it was small and the bedding was not to my style. The owners are lovely people, very friendly and make you feel at home. I had dinner twice and it was delicious both times.

The property has a magnificent setting. Direct sunrises, reflected sunset skies and mountains, all without having to get out of bed. But walking out on the veranda to take in the whole valley view was even better. Hosts Monika and Dave were fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts provided, and after trying their dinner the first night we decided to dine there every night. Certainly no regrets! The property's location near Marakele NP was perfect for us. We enjoyed hiking around the place and up the ridge, happy to come back to our new dog friends' greetings. We plan to return here our next foray North, and plan to bring our USA family guests here when they come to visit. Our stay was a perfect African experience.

Brilliant!

I stayed in the twin room as travelling alone exploring the area by motorbike. Clean, comfortable and quiet room, excellent food with amazing views. Owners Dave & Monica are incredible hosts, they've traveled extensively themselves and know how to do things just right! A genuine pleasure to meet meet them both. If I am in that area again, Ill definitely be staying at Marula Cottage.

Everything was great!

We had a very great stay at the marula cottage. The owners Dave and Monika are very friendly and helpful. The Nature and the Location of the cottage is unique. You should book the Dinner. Monika and Dave are great cooks. Hope to stay there once again. Best regards, Nini and Benny

Empfehlung in jeder Hinsicht

Dieses Cottage ist wärmstens zu empfehlen. Durch die Nähe zu Johannesburg kann man hier wunderbar den ersten Stop einlegen und sich etwas akklimatisieren. Bei den beiden Gastgebern Monika und David fühlt man sich wie bei guten Freunden. Man bekommt nützliche Tipps und Hinweise für Ausflüge in die beiden nahen Nationalparks: Marakele und Pilanesberg. Man sollte sich nicht das gute Essen von Monika entgehen lassen, also unbedingt hier zu Abend essen. Die Anfahrt ist mit einem normalen Mietauto gut machbar. Wir werden beim nächsten Südafrikaurlaub gerne wieder vorbei schauen und freuen uns auf die 3 charmanten Hunden nebst Monika und David.
