From the moment we arrived at The Birchwood Inn in Temple, New Hampshire, we knew we had found a true gem. The rooms are beautifully appointed, blending classic New England charm with modern comforts. We slept soundly in the cozy bed and woke up refreshed each morning to the tranquil sounds of the countryside. What truly set The Birchwood Inn apart, however, was the incredible attention to detail and genuine kindness from the innkeeper. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to find a thoughtful selection of snacks waiting for us, a perfect pick-me-up after our journey. But the real highlight was the homemade banana blackberry bread – it was absolutely divine, warm, moist, and bursting with flavor. It felt like a true taste of home, and we savored every bite! The Birchwood Inn isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience. The innkeeper's personal touch and dedication to making guests feel welcome shine through in every detail. We left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and already planning our next visit. My room was warm and cozy on a very cold New England night. If you’re going to be in New Hampshire you should at least try a night at the Inn. Read your favorite poem and have a glass of wine downstairs if you’re lucky enough to be there when they are serving dinner. Would recommend and will visit again when I’m in the area.

Very cozy place! Owner was very responsive to our needs. Nice selection of breakfast items and snacks in room. Convenient parking. Close to area restaurants/businesses. We stayed over Christmas so the onsite restaurant was not open but it looked quite nice. Only thing that could be improved is the scent used for the linens, as it was a bit strong. Otherwise, would definitely recommend for anyone needing to stay in the area.

Hyggeligt men på en anden måde

Hygeligt sted i Temple. Vi savnede kontakt til en reception eller ejerene. Kunne kun kontaktes via telefonopkald. Vi var der 2 overnatninger og det skulle være incl. morgenmad. Der lå youghurt og andet i køleskabet på værelset men blev ikke ikke genopfyldt efter første overnatning. Vi var på gennemrejse sydpå og syntes stedet lå godt på vores rute.

Quaint small inn basically in the middle of nowhere. Rooms are dated and could use some updating, but ours was a suite with plenty of room. Excellent bar and restaurant in the Inn (loved Natalie the bar tender!)

Old uneven floors, very little service unless you asked and then put up with the excuses. Not at all pleasant to stay here. Feels like it is a aggravating pastime for reluctant owners. Avoid.

A quaint, lovely inn. Room was well-appointed with everything that we could possibly need. We stayed three nights in the Cambridge Room. Unfortunately we stayed on days that the restaurant was closed so we didn't get to have our dinners there. A continental breakfast was provided for us in our room as well as a well-appointed basket of snacks. We are hoping to retire to the area and we will be sure to return during our house hunting trips!

I travel a lot for work on my own in remote areas of NH & VT, so finding a safe and comfortable place to stay is very important to me. The staff at Birchwood were so kind and welcoming. My room was well prepared and very clean. The only thing that made me a little nervous was the back door in the room because I was unsure if the lock actually worked and only a thin see through drape covered the window. Just something to be cognizant of for young women traveling alone! Overall, I loved my stay and would definitely come again!
