Lovely warm welcome as always. Beautiful room with a lovely balcony. Food was amazing. 5 star service and experience. Thank you David
The room was spaceous, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast to start the day.
Radiators were a bit noisy when the heating came on i9n the early morning
Definitey would stay again and intend to do so in the Spring
Property is beautiful and in a lovely setting. Strange set up where I received an email saying my booking was at risk as I’d given incorrect card details to secure the booking. Payment was due to be taken on arrival. Turns out the hotel needed payment up front and this is why we received the email. This seemed unprofessional and a little odd. The food was gorgeous (breakfast and dinner). Could benefit from a lounge area as there was nowhere comfortable to sit after dinner so we went back to our room.
Wonderful hotel. Had dinner on site and it was excellent. Service was welcoming and friendly. Definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a quality hotel with the personal touch
The staff were very warm and welcoming and the hotel itself was very peaceful and quiet. We had a room overlooking the garden and enjoyed watching the peacocks and guinea fowl milling about. The location is ideal as it is situated just off the A358 and M5.
Such a great smaller hotel with a cosy feel. They have obviously thought abut there customers and the staff were great. room very clean with a comfy bed. grounds were really well looked after and I'm sure in the summer months it would be a beautiful place to sit out & have dinner or some drinks. I really enjoyed the food. Dinner was very good and the breakfast was excellent. I will definitely be staying again if travelling close by.
The newly renovated ground floor rooms are beautifully decorated and overlook the gardens at the rear of the property.
The beds are super comfy and the bathroom has a powerful shower
The food in the restaurant is very good and even cater for those with food allegies. The staff are very friendly and welcoming
The area is in a quiet village setting but yet close enough to the main arterial roads to get to yeovil and Taunton
Would definitely stay here again
A comfortable quiet room but what made the stay memorable was the excellent dinner & seriously good breakfast the following morning. The quality of the cooking was unexpected & simply a joy. It is worth staying for the food! The hotel is only five minutes from the Taunton junction on the M5 & very easy to find. The garden also looks delightful with plenty of seating for warmer days. Highly recommended!

Hugely disappointing. Under whelming,
Prior to our stay we had an email stating credit card invalid and the booking was in danger of being cancelled. To my knowledge I had paid Hotels.com The email looked like a scam with a different reference number. I tried to contact the property to discuss my concerns and there was no reply. I eventually got through the following day and spoke to an abrupt man called John who's customer service skills were zero, all he was interested in was getting our card details. Thankfully he did ensure our requests were fulfilled.
* The staff in arrival were very helpful and friendly
* The room looked well presented, however it was extremely cold (despite a small fan heater) due to draughty windows and radiators/central heating not on. Consequently the room felt damp and smelt damp.
* The full English breakfast we had the first morning was really greasy and my other half said "it's the worst I've ever had!"
* There's no reception desk per se, I waited around for in excess of 15 for a member of staff to attend to a request. I ended up phoning the hotel to summon help and John answered, again his customer service skills wouldn't have been out of place at Fawlty Towers. Fortunately a member of staff appeared to help!
* Sunday night again there were no staff about in the reception/bar area. After a wait a member of staff did arrive. I requested food only to be told the kitchens closed early at 7pm. Also informed in a snooty manner they don't do snacks/bar meals, only fine dining.
Clean and tidy rooms with very comfy bed and amazing views, delicious breakfast however the bathroom was a disappointment, water pressurw was besrly non exsistant plus the shower head was dirty with a spider in the ocrner, also there was no shampoo avaialble. Overall very lovely place.
