Villa Chiarenza Maison d'Hôtes was a stunning century old pensione with antique decor, beautiful artwork, and amazing views. We loved the owners who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Even though they don’t speak English, we were able to get by on our limited Italian and Spanish. The homemade breakfast changed daily, and was freshly made from local ingredients. We had a double room with two twin beds and a queen. It was nicely decorated with some Italian treasures and paintings. It was ideal for our family of three, including a 4 year old. The hotel is closed to many attractions. We wished we could stay there longer.

Villa d’epoca tenuta finemente con un bell’affaccio sull’Etna e … casello autostradale. I proprietari molto gentili, si può parcheggiare internamente al costo di 8€ al giorno escluso dalla tariffa delle camere. Le stanze, seppur d’epoca, tenute molto bene e la pulizia impeccabile! Peccato per la posizione non troppo comoda, nel senso che a piedi sono 20 minuti per arrivare in centro (passeggiata per vie non bellissime) e per andare al mare occorre prendere la macchina.

This B&B is truly so special, one of a kind. It's run by the sweetest/kindest older couple named Agata and Salvatore, who feel like the Sicilian grandparents you always wished you'd had. The estate is uniquely decorated with stylish antiques from top to bottom, truly awe-inspiring. Each room feels like a victorian dream, with no detail too small. The outdoor terrace which they serve you breakfast from is idyllic, with a view of Mt. Etna in the background. The pictures do this place no justice, you'll have to see it in person. Enjoy!

La signora Agata e il signore Salvatore (proprietari) sono stati come dei nonni, accogliendoci tutte le mattine con una ricca colazione, consigliandoci cosa visitare nel modo più comodo e conveniente ed essendo estremamente simpatici. The hotel is located outside the tourist area but access is difficult due to the confusion of taking a wrong turn and getting back into the tollway (not much around the neighborhood and not an easy walk to the closest beach – pretty dirty and rocky). The owners/host are very nice but do not speak English. The room we were assigned was plenty big, with a comfortable bed and a balcony with a view of Mt Etna. Communication was fine due to my “poor Italian” and their daughter answers the Whatsapp messages. The breakfast is plentiful but has unusual choices (this may be due to it being prepared fresh each morning and ready for each table). Examples of the breakfast items include: bruschetti with tomato, zucchini, and/or prosciutto, orange juice, fruit cocktail or fresh fruit, bread, and croissants, cookies, or cake. I did request and they made scramble eggs for me as I am not used to eating cold vegetables or fruit/croissants/cake in the morning. Parking is tight and difficult, as the gate is hard to open and close (not to mention outside traffic and people parking opposite to the gate!). Very nice hospitality in spite of location.

Salvatore and Agatha were extremely welcoming and generous hosts. Villa Chiarenza felt like stepping into a family home, and the property was beautifully well kept with a serene garden/terrace. Extremely comfortable and well appointed rooms and breakfast exceeded expectations. One of our group members has celiac and the hosts were extremely accommodating in providing gluten free options at breakfast, they went above and beyond. Will stay here again in the future, we had a lovely stay!

The hosts Salvatore and Agatha are the sweetest ever. Their villa is beautyful with great view of mt Etna. Breakfast was a feast, delicious and more than enough. I recommend everyone to stay here if in the vicinity.

This villa is like a museum – there is art in every room and you find something new every day. The hosts, Agatha and Salvatore, were very sweet and lovely people. They make delicious breakfast every morning and make you feel like you're at home. The garden area is perfect for winding down and watching lizards chasing each other. The view of Mt. Etna is absolutely gorgeous! It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the beaches/restaurants/bus stops and a 20 minute drive to Taormina. There is parking in the villa.

We loved our stay here. Our hosts were marvelous. Friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and we had a nice terrace which we used a lot - viewing Mt Etna. And having our antipasto before going out for dinner. Salvatore and his wife were excellent t hosts and made us very interesting g and nourishing g. Real fast each morning - with the best coffee.

5 star service and value

Stayed at the villa for 9 nights in a premium double room with large terrace with wonderful views of mount Etna. A very relaxing experience with a wonderful traditional breakfast each morning. Room very comfortable with plenty of storage . Good shower and air conditioning. Good location- easy access from motorway; 20 minute walk to nearest beach at Gardini- Naxos and a 15 drive to centre of Taormina. Will definitely use again
