Closet light flashed like a strobe light, there were many missing lights, shower had a great overhead shower head but you had to fight the engagement knob to get it to get it to work. And then there were the cats that hung out at your feed when you were eating mewing continually. See photo. The food was great and the pool was amazing."

The seafront walk after meals is simply breathtaking. The service by the entire staff team was exceptional, their thoughtfulness beat our imagination, trustworthy team. If time had allowed us we would have extended our stay, however the good thing is that we intend to return to Mombasa and stay at the same hotel. Of special mention is Eric - head of security, Emily and Maria at reception, Charles & Francis maintenance staff, who all added to the wonderful experience. Unable to mention everyone aside being grateful to every staff who attended to us. Please keep the excellent service up."

"I have stayed at the Serena several times over the past 20 years. In fact, of the 80 countries I have visited the Serena in Mombasa is still my favorite place in the world. The staff, including front dest staff (namely, Althuman) and the wait staff are outstanding. Many are long-term staff who have obviously been well-trained in customer service. The Maisha Spa is always worth a visit. The property is beginning to show signs of aging so I hope there are plans to upgrade it, while not loosing its Swahili Coast charm. I have been a fan for a long time and will be back again!"

"Wonderful place, for people looking to seek a different type of experience, we stayed in the lagoon bubble lodge, lovely view of the lagoon. Monkeys jumping on top in the morning which we were lucky to see as we slept. One of the best pools to swim and relax. Staff and owners very welcoming and helpfull. Lovely facility of boat ride to take you to otherside which by road takes 50 mins. Would definitely recommend to people seeking a luxury outdoor experience."
