From the moment we arrived at Salt Lick Safari Resort, we knew we were in for something special. Checking in and immediately seeing an elephant drinking water up close was a moment of true healing and set the tone for our entire stay.
The grounds of the resort are gorgeous, and our room had an amazing view of the watering hole, providing constant wildlife viewing right from our balcony. The staff were super friendly and incredibly accommodating throughout our visit.
We enjoyed several game drives, but the Bushdown Dinner was the greatest experience of my life! Being warmly greeted by a local tribe and burning a lot of calories dancing was unforgettable.
Overall, I highly recommend Salt Lick Safari Resort, especially if you want the chance to see animals up close and personal. It's a truly unique and unforgettable escape.
This was the most extraordinary accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. The room it self was standard, it was very clean a good amount of space, the nets were a great addition and needed, and the turn down service was great. But the views the views the views are phenomenal and the service was exceptional. I had an elephant walk directly under my window my first night. While I didn’t see any other elephants come down to the hotel, I saw more than I could have asked for during the game drives - they are a must. I did a morning and an afternoon game drive and they were both spectacular in different ways. From my pick up at Voi train station to my drop off, I had an absolutely amazing time. This was truly a trip of a lifetime. I want to give a special shout out to the truly amazing staff. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and took special care of me as a solo traveler. Thank you to Nicodeums for being an amazing game driver, taking extra time and caution to make sure I saw everything there was to be seen. Thank you to Rose for your attentiveness, laugher, and beautiful smile. I have much more I could say about how wonderful everyone was, but for brevity, thank you to Patterson, Naomi, Christine, Josiah, Samuel, Harrison, Sylvia, Shedrack, and Chef Agnes. You all make me want to come back again and again and again. My only complaint is that I could not do some activities because they required a minimum of 6 people, but it’s not their fault I came alone. Just something to note.
It was a fantastic holiday..I had a chance to see all the wild animals around the hotel..the staff was friendly, rooms were clean, the hotel has a spectacular view to observe the wild animals. But the most annoying thing we were asked to pay the parking fee. Parking fee isn’t mentioned anywhere while booking.
The experience was better than anticipated. We hired a car and drove from Mombasa which allowed us to drive around the sanctuary at will. It wasn’t long before we met a herd of zebras and thereafter animals were to be found around every turn. The organised game drive was also fantastic experience; it was possible to get very close to the wildlife including elephants. Each day buffalo and elephants came to drink at the hotel’s waterhole which when viewed from the hotel’s underground hide made for some spectacular photos.
This place is amazing, enchanting and magical. I saw everything except a leopard, hippo and rhino. I felt like I was in a movie! The experience surpasses your expectations, lots of value for your money. I met a great tour guide in Mombasa that drove me there and was attentative, informative and professional. His name is Peter Tolle +254 725 220013 and he is ready to do the same for others. You can mention my name (Leslie) for extra perks :).
This is an amazing destination, especially since it was designed in 1964 and yet has a timeless feel of both unique and functional appeal.
All that said the friendly staff was the BEST!
We love you Kenyans
The stay was amazing with friendly staff and great food done to our request! A great worker Nicholas made sure we were well served and the Chef ensured we got our special diet done.....i would recommend anyone to visit the place it is fascinating !
we truly enjoyed our stay very good though some clintes were noisy ....
Facility, staff, and overall location was divine. Staff always with a smile and customer service beyond this world. Maintenance of the facilities seemed to be a priority as well. The food was always delicious. The views were better than lion king movie. Amazing
This place is AMAZING! You don’t even need to go on a safari all the animals come to you and drink from the watering hole at the hotel!!! You can spend your whole day watching them or go on a safari and see all the others all right in the park! Very cool place!
Only thing would be better if it was all- inclusive as only got a bottle of water in room and no where else to get it.
Partiamo dalle stelle: 5
In compenso location spettacolare e struttura architettonicamente unica.
Asanti sana for the great time!!!

Beautiful scenery
Beautiful scenery very friendly and helpful staff. But very expensive for what they offer. All inclusive but we still have to pay extra for the drinks regardless of whether it was alcoholic or not.
