The gardens in Taiping are really gorgeous with ten lakes featuring tons of lotus flowers and water lilies. Their claim to fame is that they were the first public gardens in Malay, opened in 1880 by the British over the remains of a tin mine. The gardens are a must see if you get the chance to visit the rarely tourist-ed town of Taiping.
Nice hotel to stay in. Just at the edge of the lake garden. This is the view you get :)

In desperate need of some attention. Walls were cracked and peeling. Ceiling tiles in bathroom were moldy and falling down. Electrical outlet pulling away from wall. Cobwebs. Hasn’t seen a new coat of paint in years and the last one was poorly down. I can’t say anything positive about the breakfast. ...
