This hotel was in an excellent location for visiting spots around central Taipei. It was just a few steps away from a redline subway location with easy connections to other subway lines in the area. The street scene is clean and felt safe into the night. There seems to be a lot of nightlife and people on the streets at night so it was a fun place to watch people. The hotel begins on the eighth floor so there isn’t much street noise at all. we signed up for the option with the breakfast included and we really liked that a lot. There were many options and it was fun to have a more traditional Chinese or Japanese breakfast. Not a cinnamon roll in sight but plenty of protein and vegetable options. The rooms were big enough. The bedding was a high-quality cotton. The bathroom had a tub Shower toilet. The hotel would keep our luggage the day that we checked out so that we could come back and pick it up later in the day. Overall, I felt that it was a good value. Given that the hotel is tucked onto the eighth floor of a building I will say that it can be helpful to know what you’re looking for when you first go there. If the cab driver had not said, there’s the entrance we might have had a little bit of trouble finding it after a 15 hour airline flight. However, once we knew where it was, it was a great place.

Nice staff and lovely hotel with modern appeal ! Affordable pricing and ok breakfast nothing extra ! Hotel in good location close to shopping and restaurants nearby ! Night market is in walking distance! Bed sleeps good ! Room walls are thin ! Area is safe and lots to do ! Enjoy !

Room 803 looks exactly like the photo but the smell was very musty to a point I had to request for changing room. I am not a crazy picky person; this is the first time in my life I had to do so. Their response was not even helpful saying Taipei is humid these days and the other room may smell the same. I told them it is MUSTY and gross. I cannot stay in this room for the next 6 nights. They could only offer me to another room next day but cannot guarantee the smell is better with a poker face. What the heck. When I started unpacking my stuff, I found the shower cap from the last customer was still in the bathroom. The place is lack of quality check on the tidiness. I hope Royal Hotel brand can do something about it. When I had to check out next day at 8:45am, they offered me another room immediately. I really wonder if there was a clean room before 9am, why couldn’t they offer it to me the night before but made me stayed in that musty room for the first night? The overall management and customer service is not meeting the standard.

I have been to Taiwan 10 times and stayed in different hotel each time. This is one of my top choice for a good stay. Location is very good. Just less than 5 mins walk from zhongshan station exit 3. If carrying luggage, use exit 4 as there is escalator. Love the open wardrobe space, the long table and the many sockets available for charging devices. Nothing to complain.

Cool room in the heart of the city.
This was a wonderful hotel in a great location. The breakfast was awesome and the room was very clean. Also a nice city view. This is probably usual for most hotels in Taipei, but the roof in the bathroom was pretty low so I had to bend down to stand in the shower and i'm 6ft. Not a big deal, since everything else was great!

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights for easy access to MRT and a short 10 mins walk to Taipei Main station (for day tours to other cities). The hotel room is very well cleaned daily and the facilities are well maintained. Like the Japanese minimalist and modern design. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were too flat for my liking. Breakfast was provided. Small spread but sufficient to get ur day ready. With shin kong mitsukoshi right opposite, shopping is very accessible. Ningxia night market was also 10 mins walk away.

Clean room and excellent service, especially from Alley Lin, the front desk staff who is always smiling and has probably the sweetest smile I have ever seen! She threw her sweet smiles to every guest who passed by the front desk, which is located on 8th floor. The hotel location is superb, just next to Zhongshan MRT station, but it's a long staircase leading down to the MRT station, with no escalator or elevator, which may pose a physical challenge for the elderly. There are plenty of eating options at both Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Eslite, just across the street. The downside of this hotel is that the room is extremely small. Luckily they have a lounge on the 8th floor where guests can hang around at, with free coffee and tea. They also do not have a gym for fitness freaks like me, who needs to work out even during vacations and business trips. But, at their price, there's really nothing much to complain. They offer such a ridiculously cheap price for a clean and well-maintained accommodation in the center of Taipei! I had expected a lot worse for this kind of pricing and the fact that they label themselves as an inn rather than a hotel. They also provide complimentary buffet in their lounge, as well as free self-service laundry/dryer on the 10th floor. This is a pretty decent hotel to stay at if you are on a business trip or vacations with someone you do not really need to impress a lot.

Overall a nice experience. Bed is firm & room size is adequate. The amenities seems a bit dated but clean. Only let down is the bath towels( holes). Breakfast is acceptable- they offer more asian spread than western.

The room was in a decent size, clean and sufficient. Breakfast venue n hotel lobby are not big but sufficient. Very good and convenient location, accessible from MRT station. I don’t mind staying there again if I were to visit Taipei again. Only challenge is that since the hotel lobby is on level 8 of the building, it may not be easy to find when you go for the first time. Must pay attention to the address, marking on the building. Overall, very pleased with the stay!

The Hotel is located just walking distance from Zhongshang station and one metro station away from Taipei Metro Station. Also the hotel is close to many restaurants and shopping outlets. It is perfect for business travellers.

Very convenient location, near MRT. Staff is very friendly and professional. Room is quiet and spacious. Bed is stiff for Western standard, but normal for Asian clientele. Breakfast is basic.

Good values for its price
It is a not so easy to find-hotel in an old business building. The hotel itself shows its age as well. However, the friendly staffs and overall good condition makes this hotel a good impression - somewhat in Japanese style of hospitality and spirit.

Recommend to a business traveler. It is a good and convenient location which just a stone away to MRT station. There are 3 malls nearby and also surrounded by convenient stores, cafes and even breakfast shops, even though breakfast is included.

When the temperature was only 17 to 18 degrees, the Hotel turned on the central heating. The room became so stuffy that we found it simply unbearable. Luckily, the matter was resolved within an hour by us switching to another room which windows could be opened (for fresh air!). The hassle could well be avoided if the Hotel, in the first place, had given us a room with windows that could be opened from inside as I requested prior to checking in.

The staff, especially Bruce Lee, was exceptionally helpful and considerate. When we asked about a dinner recommendation, Bruce actually walked us to a nearby restaurant and translated the menu for us. And the food was fantastic! He also promptly moved us to a nicer room when we were not happy with our first room. The location also is excellent. Just steps from the MRT station. Lots of shopping just out the front door and the renowned Din Tai Fung restaurant is just across the street. The breakfast was also quite good.

Convenient, safe location. Room was clean and tidy. Hi The staff are efficient, can use some friendly smile on their faces, and more accommodations towards simple requests for guest convenience. They should provide at least one bedside table for water, cell phone, medicine, etc. during the night, the only chair can be more comfortable and less stiff to sit. Breakfast could use a little more attention as many items are close to empty by 8 am and not replenished until 8:30 or later, if you arrive 30 minutes prior to finish, practically everything is gone. There is only one coffee machine which works slowly, although coffee quality is decent.

Decent hotel if you want to stay in Zhongshan area
Hotel was clean. It is 10-15 minutes walk away from Ningxia Night Market. Very close to Zhongshan metro station as well. The only downside is that it is not near to any convenient stores. You probably have to walk a distance (few blocks away) to a Family Mart. Hotel can be difficult to locate when you first arrive as it is on Level 8 of a building without many signages.
