Hotel itself is tired and quite run down, needs a large scale renovation. Room was clean but as with wider hotel is very dated. Hotel breakfast was poor. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Easy and free parking was a good benefit. Easy to access location wise.

I stayed overnight on Wednesday 3 June. On the Thursday morning I got up to find there was no hot water in my room. I had to wash and shave using cold water. Most unsatisfactory. I went to reception and the staff there was most unhelpful. I asked to make a formal complaint and asked the manager to contact me by phone or email. No follow up has been forthcoming. I feel robbed as I paid quite a high price for the room and in my opinion have not been given the customer service anyone would expect. An apology and or compensation should have been forthcoming. Please be aware of my experience and take this into consideration if you are booking a stay.

Parking was very easy Staff were delightful and helpful The hotel was very quiet with it being out of season so the menu choice in the restaurant was very limited but what we had was good and value for money. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order again because of the limited number of guests. We will definitely return.

Run down. It was probably once a nice place, it’s dirty the carpets were worn out. The room we had, had no hot water. It wasn’t pleasant at all, so we ended up staying at a local friends house instead!

Staff were friendly, but the room was very dated. The reception has a painted concrete floor which is a terrible first impression everything is worn and dated. The pool was nice and having work done to it the gym looked really fresh and new. changing rooms were grotty and dated . Didnt eat here I went out as I was the only one in the restaurant travelling for work solo. I will be looking elsewhere when I stay in the area in future.

This is a very tired hotel. Holes in curtains and stains in the carpet. Waited 5-6 mins for a member of the team to arrive in the dining room at breakfast and then gave up. The dining room looked abandoned and not set up for breakfast. This hotel, given its location and setting should really be a lot better than this. The pool and spa area is nice but the Sauna goes off and one has to go to reception to have it put back on. The lights in the pool area do not come on until it is dusk outside meaning it is not adequately lit. I had to ask for 3 days on the bounce for shower gel for the showers as the dispensers in the area were empty and not refilled. Unloved and not properly cared for is my view. I won’t be returning.

Reasonably priced hotel. Rooms of a good standard in a lovely setting on a golf course. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Leisure facilities were spotless and woefully underused, which is a shame. Evening meal was really good.

Fine if short of alternatives and can rough it

Fine for a brief boys trip with dad and nephew, but couldnt have brough mum here! Very very tired. This has potential to be great if refurbished but as stands is on par with a hostel for students.

The hotel was tired and is in need of some updating. General areas were not as clean as we would have liked although the rooms were on the whole acceptable. TV didn't work, cob webs around the windows but the bed and bathroom areas were OK The area around the swimming pool had broken and raised tiles and the ladies changing room had no shower facilities We didn't eat at the hotel and we didn't see anyone else eating there either I hope the hotel is due for some modernisation as the setting is lovely and views out over the golf club could be a real asset I can't see us booking to stay again
