There was nobody there when we arrived. When the proprietor arrived, I said we had to go out again, but would the bar be open later. He said that he already worked a 12hr day and would finish after he had prepared a meal. When we were shown our room, there were no towels or soap in the room. All the bedside drawers were full of rubbish. On one side one drawer was jammed full of rubbish, which included a banana skin. The other drawer had used vapes in it. One the other side, one drawer had used vapes in and the other contained one partially full drinks bottle and one empty drinks bottle. The proprietor moved all the rubbish, but only had hand towels. We left for our event. When we returned we discovered that there was only one sheet over a filthy mattress. My wife wouldnt sleep in the bed. One of the pillows had no liner and the pillow itself was soiled. Finally the door to the room kept banging all night. There were no staff available in the evening. We received no apology for any of this. Easily the worst stay we have had anywhere

Stayed for 1 night and very quiet and peaceful. Room 4 was a goid size but the tv remore was missing and the shower wasnt very warm but very peaceful and bed really comfy ..host was lovely and we had a lovely cooked breakfast so overall i think it was worth the money and we will come again..great place for exlploring...

Great location but ...
Staff friendly and helpful. With a little tweaking would be excellant. Set in a lovely area in the middle of a golf course with views across the Lougher estuary. Need to know that the restaurant is very limited and not always open. Don't rely on an evening meal. One evening we could only get a ham sandwich. On the evening we did have a meal, restaurant closed at 7 pm, although the food was lovely. Same with bar, no ice one day, no tonic another day and only one white wine ( even though there is a wine menu) Rooms in a separate annexe, were very good, great to be able to come and go without having to go through reception and only a minute or two walk to main building. Bathroom could have done with an update but adequate. Wifi was good and bed very comfy. Great terrace leading from the lounge bar, but again let down by lack of tables and chairs and sun brollies. Would maybe benefit from a fridge and microwave in the room if restaurant facilities are limited. Would definitely stay again but would go prepared!

Friendly staff, accommodation was basic but well presented. Had a good meal in the evening at a very reasonable price and breakfast was good.

Checked in fine. Only found the central heating wasn't working by the notice on the table and small heater provided (and note to limit it to lowest heat setting and turn off overnight) i.e. could have been told verbally on check-in. Arrived at 5:30pm, asked for a taxi to be booked for 7pm. Returned at 6pm for food - no food as was catering for a birthday party in the function room. Was only able to get crisps etc but unable to pay by card as the card machine wasn't working so added it to room bill. Also they had forgotten to book taxi - reminded them to book taxi for 7pm. 7pm arrived, no taxi. Only managed to get a taxi an hour later (was headed to a wedding and only lucky we arrived in time for first dance/cutting cake etc due to delays at the wedding). No external lighting (or was switched off) so almost twisted ankle on step outside and potholes in tarmac. Obviously room was freezing (was sub-zero outside), also TV speakers were tinny/crackling, main light had random flicker. Following morning, nobody asked how our stay was, breakfast was hit-and-miss (e.g. one sausage was fine, the other rubbery). My partner felt she was being an inconvenience asking staff for butter for her toast and milk for her tea as none provided and staff otherwise occupied. When trying to check-out/pay, card-machine still not working, was asked if I could provide my card details/security pin that they could retry later! Eventually they found their acct/sort code that I could pay via online banking.

John I will be writing to Expedia asking for your lies to be removed. Clearly your a very brave man behind your keyboard and very scarce on useful review information. Had you enquired about availability of food or booked a table? There were staff on throughout the day and i was there until 9.00PM so with no bookings the chef left early evening. Judging by this stuff I assume the room was in good order shower in good order along with breakfast which are major elements of the stay. Disaapointed you felt the need to make up stuff to embellish your story. Didnt you eat breakfast? Clearly you didnt see the 4* on the door.

Mid week stay
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Adrian our host couldn't be more friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfy. The breakfast was well cooked and the evening meal was perfect. This is a golf club with rooms in a converted barn, not a hotel, please bear this in mind. The views over the valley are great and the open fire in the clubhouse a bonus on a cold night.we will definitely be staying again when in the area.

Decent accommodation at a golf club
Well its a golf club in the middle of no where. The access roads are single track so this might dampen a quick get away if needed. My room was a good size and the bathroom also a good size. The shower head was floppy which annoyed me for a place like this, but this was the only fault. From the evening menu soup was off but the Steak and ale pie was a considerable portion so ended the evening completely full. Wi Fi worked well. I wouldn't avoid this place.The accommodation block is away from the clubhouse by 40 yards or so, so I can't imagine any noise pollution.

Needs a little T.L,C.
Needs a bit of T.L.C. The food was good, the service rubbish. The room was lovely, but the bathroom needed a lot of attention. The shower needed replacing,the shaving mirror light was burnt out, and the colour coding on the basin taps were the wrong way round,which could be dangerous if somebody turned on the cold tap expecting to get cold water and they got hot water. The actual Golf Course was O.K. but needs more signage to show you where to go next. Altogether a bit disappointed but enjoyed the Gower Peninsula area.

It was a good size room, no tv we asked for one but signal was rubbish so could not watch in room. The shower was dripping but man sorted after we checked in. On check out no one to take payment so lady doing breakfast said they would take off my card.

The Gower Golf Club is een rustig, klein hotel dat prettig maar wel enigzins gedateerd is. Personerl is heel vriendelijk, hartelijk en gastvrij. Ontbijtkeuze is beperkt maar het wordt wel vers voor je bereid. De kamer is ruim met luxe bed. Voordeel is dat elke kamer een eigen voordeur heeft. Het uitzicht op de prachtige Gower is fantastisch.

Not to be confused with a hotel.
No heating switched on in the breakfast area, freezing cold. No eggs had been delivered for breakfast on the Sunday morning of my stay, eggs did arrive approximately 9am after I had finished my breakfast. Bacon and sausages are pre-grilled prior to being served therefore breakfast is cold, this was on both mornings of my stay, also the plates were cold which makes the problem worse. No breakfast menu or alternative to traditional breakfast offered. The shower gell ran out just after I started my shower.

Sorry about the slip up with the eggs. I am disappointed also as these are things we have discussed previously with breakfast staff. I will follow up on it as we have had lots of decent reviews on breakfast in the past. It is a little tricky running a wide range on breakfast at a quiet time of year and at the price charged but we will look at that again and try to refresh the options in the new year.

Quiet base for Gower break
Friendly check-in on a miserable wet day. Large car-park at end of long drive. Nice clean room in annexe with view over Loughor Estuary.

Lovely Views across to Llanelli
We only needed a one night stopover near Swansea and the hotel was ideal for this. The room was quite modern looking, lovely bed. The kettle did not work, the television signal was intermittent and the hand and shower gel had not been replenished. Due to a function there was a lack of staff when we arrived and when went for breakfast we had to hunt for staff to serve us, both of whom once we had located them were very friendly and accommodating.

Last Minute Night Away.
Lovely accommodation, quiet, lovely views, excellent friendly service and a lush breakfast. Only issue was its a way from Swansea town centre and at £35 for a return taxi it's not ideal if you want to go out in Swansea but great place for a quiet weekend away.

Convenient
Ideal for a stop over or a short visit to the Gower especially at this price. Views are likely to be spectacular sadly it was misty on the morning we stayed. For golfers excellent. All can use the clubhouse for drinks and nice dining room available for all guests. Food was ok and inexpensive . This venue is good for any type of visitor

Nice situation but accommodation poor. Overpriced.
Nice area. Staff friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast good but service slow. Rooms not very clean and toilet dirty on arrival. Only one bedside table (double bed) with very dim bedside light. Had to use my phone light to read. Pipes very noisy when flushing the loo. Needs a bit of TLC and and redecoration.

“Excellent service and the room was good ” Thanks to the Staff at Gower Golf Club for 2 days stay to attend a wedding at King Arthur in nearby Reynoldston ( 25 minutes away and cost approx £18- 23 with Swallow Travel taxi service according to the time of day ) Nice cool pints from the pumps and a few laughs with the senior visiting Golfers after their match games on Thursday afternoon . Room was comfortable although we had a few issues these were sorted by the management. The setting was quiet with amazing scenery overlooking the Penclawdd area. Many thanks to the manager for sorting out my wife's appointment at the Fusion Hair salon in Gowerton nearby for the Friday morning before attending the wedding . Cooked Breakfast was chosen although cereals were also available, food was very enjoyable both mornings after and the evening meals of Gammon and Scampi were delicious and all freshly cooked to our own choice. Fair play the Manager was run off her feet and had great local knowledge , so if you want to know anything ask her. The room could do with a much needed little refurbishment with another lick of paint soon but these are only cosmetic. The bedding was crisp and fresh, the pillows , duvet and bed were comfortable. The room had a TV , a Kettle with a tray of cups & saucers , tea bags and coffee. Good overnight stay
Wonderful location if you have a car and are comfortable driving through some very narrow roads. Room small but clean. Meals good, served on sticky wood-topped tables; a tablecloth would have been nice. Staff pleasant.

Staff are very friendly and a great golf course.....after that its downhill. Poor quality food and rooms that must date back to 1980's. This is more like a B&B
