Great place to stay and only 15 minutes to Lassen Volcanic National Park. On site restaurant and bistro that both served great food. Would definitely stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Village at Highland Ranch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and parking was easy and convenient. The surrounding area and views were beautiful and definitely added to the experience. The bar and restaurant next door was a huge bonus. The staff took great care of me, the service was excellent, and the food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Overall, this was a great place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I would happily stay here again!

Good dining (focus on the meat - veggies less so), helpful and authentic service, nice atmosphere. The sister resort is the place to go, but was booked, also had to make do with motel side of the property.

Great location and comfortable beds. Could be maintained better for the price charged. Bathroom was real small considering the property has large grounds and there was very little space for clothes and personal amenities inside the bathroom.

We had a very nice experience staying here as part of our Lassen National Park trip. Enjoyed the bar and the food was great. It felt they were short staffed when it came to breakfast though. But would definitely recommend.

Location, location! This hotel is about 10 minutes from the national park which was awesome! It was clean and refreshed. There was a strange noise in our room which was disconcerting for me. There were a couple of chairs outside the front of the room which was nice. Parking was a breeze in front of the hotel. We never saw any staff members because we arrived after 6. There is a nice little café a short walk away. We all loved our meals and ice cream.

It's a beautiful place right next to the park entrance. Amazing view of the ranch on the other side of the street. Unfortunately I couldn't charge because you have to bring your own charging cable.

Very clean and modern; however, there was no AC. Temperatures on our vehicle were reading near triple digits and we were cooking. The funny part was that their website said the builders and designers didn’t overlook anything or spare expenses when building these rooms. Also, one of our party members had fallen ill, yet the staff refused any sort of partial refund for checking out early. Next time I’d stay a little further away in Chester and have more than just a single option for food.

We had a nice time and appreciated the proximity to Lassen Volcanic Park. The amenities were very basic for the price but again, that is the benefit of being close to the park since there are limited options. The room was clean & quiet. The good: Franks Bistro & Highlands Restaurant had very delicious food with good options. Property surrounded by cattle which are beautiful to watch. I love watching wildlife of any kind. The property has a resident marmot, Rudy, who you can see foraging the grounds. Helpful staff & clean rooms. The other: The property is essentially a remodeled motel so the amenities are very basic. The rooms do not have a closet or full kitchen: just a microwave, coffee maker & refrigerator. No sink or area to prepare food so you'll have to make do. We made lunches in preparation for our hikes throughout the day which were difficult due to limited space and cleaning area. The bathrooms have very dim lighting making it difficult to see into the mirror to get ready for the day. No in room safe for anything of value. Very pricey for what you get but great open location to enjoy the mountainside surroundings.

Beware - there is NO air conditioning. Ceiling fans were not sufficient to cool room when we were there in mid-July. Assume you will need to follow after hours check in even if you arrive during the check in hours. Check your email before you get there because there is no cell service there. We went to the nearby cantina to get wifi so we could read email. Not a good way to start our stay.
