The staff was friendly and the location was nice with Lake Superior view. But the property was run down and needs a little TLC. The bed was comfortable enough. Could have used someplace convenient to stash our duffle bags. The bar and restaurant had an outdoor patio that was nice but the bartender seemed a little inexperienced. We had to tell her how to make our drinks, but still friendly and helpful. And the lighting in the stairway we had to use (at one end of the building) was pretty poor.

It was just an average room and hotel. It was convenient for us for doing a fishing charter. The biggest issue was kids/parents. There was a young kid hockey tournament that weekend. The parents just let their kids run up and down the halls screaming and yelling until late into the night. No accountability or courtesy whatsoever. They were even playing hockey in the hall. That’s the parents fault for letting them do this until past 10pm when some people needed to be up at 4 am. And the hotel staff for not putting an end to it. Not sure I’d stay there again.

An excellent location, however the place is run down and definite need of repairs and updating. The back of the building was filthy, cigarette butts were laying by the door, weeds were growing next to the building and the pool area needed cleaning. It would be a very nice place with a lot of tlc. Don’t think I’m coming back.

There wasn’t much to like except the grounds were well kept and we enjoyed the walking trail. There was no one to check us in when we arrived. Our room was very dirty, the sink didn’t drain, the duvet had yellow stains which were disgusting. The restaurant was terrible. We waited an hour for our food, which wasn’t worth the wait. I ordered a blueberry salad that came with no blueberries, and my husband’s sandwich was hardly edible. You need some renovations to the entire facility.

Charged more on property than the Expedia quoted total rate. Bathroom dirty and hair in the tub before we used it. Toilet is leaking. Back entrance completely open and accessible without using keycard. This property is older and I understand that, but not worth the price at all.

I've stayed here many times in the past. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. We sat in the restaurant for appx 15 minutes without anyone coming over, after being seated. There were no towels in the pool area and when we asked for some we never got them. The air-conditioning worked great and the room was clean. The hotel needs painting big time and needs a shuttle to bring you to Duluth. We never heard thank you for staying or anything. It felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by staying there.

This Hotel is relaxing and quiet and close to Duluth so you can enjoy all the Duluth activities at a nice reasonable price. The restaurant had excellent service, good selection of good tasting food at very reasonable prices. It had inside and patio dining. This was my second time staying here and I will be back again.

The hotel was probably a beautiful destination when it was built. It still has some retro charm, but overall in disrepair. The pool is big/nice but there is carpet in the pool area and what looks like green mold or moss growing in the non-carpeted parts. There is a funky smell in the halls and our room's bathroom was so dirty we almost asked to change rooms (lots of hair on the floor, used washcloth still in the shower). Location is beautiful on Lake Superior though.
