Buffet dinner was very delicious Icelandic fare: lamb meatballs, curried halibut, trout poke Asian style, pickled red cabbage, home made rye bread, pickled beet root and fish soup. Ask for the “new” rooms in the addition. They have new bathrooms and balconies with views of the ocean and waterfalls. Great location on the peninsula for day trips. Helpful staff.

The staff was excellent, working hard to meet the demands of a larger crowd than usual. The rooms are, as pictured, very basic. The food was adequate but the dinner was overpriced.

This is a beautiful property in the sense it is comfortingly decorated and the hospitality of the staff is lovely. You can walk to the ocean. The breakfast was lovely. The dinner buffet specializes in fresh and local fish, which we didn't realize when we booked, and which is not a favourite of our group. The rooms are renovated but small. As a group of 3 adults we were quite cramped in our unit.

Was a good location for our time on the West Peninsula. We were in the new section and so the room/bathroom was quite nice. Nice to have access to lounge with tea and coffee and breakfast was decent.

They upgraded us for free and changed our room so it had a double. Free coffee and tea was great and the staff was very friendly. Great place to stay after flying into Reykjavik early in the morning and driving around all day!

Staff great, amazing buffet. Weather was horrible, all of them helped get me out of car, wind so strong i was trapped. They also took great care of unexpected bus tour, the tour group challenging but they were professional whole time. Amazing for such young people, worked well as team.

Very efficiently run place. Close to the Ytri beach and local bath. Clean room. Tea and coffee was available 24 hours in the main dining area but just to have tea in your room early morning without having to dress decently would have been nice. The buffet dinner was very good, lots of variety of good. Get a taste of all Icelandic food. Worth the money.

There is an older section and newer section. The older section is "basic" as advertised. I stayed in the older "basic" section (my mistake) and would not recommend it. It is run down, the bathroom has no separation between sink and shower, furniture was damaged, heat did not work, old crinkled print as art work, make-shift desk, minimal space, no black-out shades, etc. I should note, the newer section of the hotel does look very nice.
