This hotel was gorgeous, modern, and luxurious. The stay included bottled water in reusable tin water bottles, turn down service with chocolates, and a very handy beach bag that we got to keep as a souvenir. I appreciated the daily text communication with reminders of resort activities and that pool chairs are unable to be held for more than 30 minutes. There were plenty of staff members walking around the pool collecting towels and serving refreshments. Food was delicious no matter which restaurant we went to, including the sister property Opel Sands. Bases on this first time experience I would consider staying at any Opel property!
Daily cookies and trail snacks were a bonus! On the right are board games you can borrow for the room.
Beautiful lighting in the breakfast restaurant Toadt.
3rd floor spa pool area that anyone can use, and there is a hot tub too. This gets sun early in the morning until 2ish.

This is my first trip to Clearwater Beach, and I love this place — there are many options for dining and strolling. One downside: The hotel was crowded and fully booked, making it difficult to find a pool chair.

Getting pool chairs is a horrible experience. People start saving them from 7:30am! Front desk gentleman was very rude when i asked if there was any water while checking in and waiting for our room … he said I can go to the bar or market place and purchase one . Just to turn around and see the valet handing waters out to someone . We loved Nora at the market place very outgoing and nice! I wouldn’t stay here again the pools was overcrowded .The property is nice overall.

The Opal Sol was absolutely beautiful. My best friend and I stayed at the Opal Sands last year and decided to stay at the Sol this year. The location is perfect and in close/walking distance to local bars, restaurants and shops. The resort is exceptionally clean, rooms are beautiful, beds are extremely comfortable and the views are spectacular. We found that the Sol lacked in the room service area. We ordered a pot of coffee each morning as the Keurig coffee was blah. The coffee was delivered promptly, but on two occasions without cups and by the time the cups were delivered, the coffee was cold. Last year when we stayed at the Sands, we LOVED the Amaretto French Toast and we were disappointed that it wasn’t on the menu at the restaurant “Toast” at the Sol. It was still on the menu at the “Sea Guini” at the Sands, but we were unable to order it through room service so we had to walk over to pick it up. Being that the buildings are attached, it would be great if it was possible to order room service from restaurants from both hotels. This year, we decided not to pack toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) because the full bottle offerings in the shower at the Sands were awesome! We were disappointed when we checked into the Sol and only tiny bottles were available. They weren’t the same quality at all and we had to go to the local Walgreens to buy full bottles which we ended up leaving at the resort because we didn’t want to check bags at the airport.

Food is excellent at resort, very nice spa but salt room was not working unfortunately. Clearwater Beach is a fun area, food overall on the beach is just fair when compared to south Florida or Destin area. Traffic is terrible as expected to spring break. Staff at the hotel is amazing!! The pool bar is nice and had great food and drinks. The pool itself is disappointing as is the pool area, it’s all gated in, can’t really see the beach. Pools are tiny not a resort experience. No adult pool. Kids everywhere in the hot tub. Very few chairs. The pool and beach experience are fair at best. Fun to try a new are of Florida but will it be returning to Clearwater.

Excellent resort. Beautiful pools. Room was modern. Really delightful. Every room has sunset view of gulf. Exercise room was stellar. Beach was crowded but very nice. Loved the cabanas. Only negative was breakfast meal at the toast.

Our stay was great. This resort does a nice job of making sure you feel taken care of. The nightly price is steep, so the resort fees feel high in addition. Almost every employee we encountered was wonderful. Too many people jammed into a small area for the pool, and the beach is ridiculously crowded with those from Opal Sands also sharing the same beach.

Top of the line! This hotel is brand new and directly across from the beach. 2 great pools that look out onto the beach and another pool for morning sun seekers on 3rd floor roof. Several restaurants to choose from with delicious food choices. I can’t say enough about how nice the hotel is and the central location to everything Clearwater. You won’t be disappointed.

Dinner restaurant is really good. Lunch and breakfast not so great. Rooms amazing view amazing. It is on a busy strip and pool gets busy but if get out to grab front row along beach it’s nice. It’s a busy strip kinda vacation. Beach is busy and too many people to just relax and hard to even get a spot that can see the water as their are cabana all along blocking view to water. Opel should really lobby to get rid of them or at least move them way back from the water edge.
