Wish I had taken notice of the negative comments. Very disappointed with the hotel and I will not return. Paid extra for executive room as we wanted more space with a river view. Was put in the annex, very small cramped double not a large room as shown on website. Room was on a bridge over a public footpath!!! With people walking underneath all night and day. Struggled to relax as you could not have windows open unless you wanted everyone to hear your conversation and no air conditioning to keep cool. Walls paper thin as you could hear every conversation from the adjacent rooms and passing dog walkers, runners and locals. Even the latch on the gate in the field 3meters away made a noise. To top it all the car park gate broke down as we were leaving and no mains water from midnight to 11am the next day. Hotel staff very inexperienced to address issues with a response that management would telephone me- which they didn't. Wish I stayed at the Golden Lion or in Huntingdon

A convenient and reasonable place to stay for visiting Cambridge - guided bus. Location be the river in St Ives attractive. Room clean. Staff helpful but felt a little understaffed.

After a bit of a dodgy start with booking a river view room and getting a room with windows in the roof area that you couldn’t see out of, unless you were six foot tall! Also the blinds were screwed down so no natural light at all. Went back to reception and complained. Quickly sorted out and given the room we booked. Room very clean and spacious

OK for a night or two

Oir stay was OK. A last minute booking so we could spend the evening in the lovely St Ives. We had trouble finding our room and had to go back to reception to ask for help! I thought the room was a little cold in the night. The carpark is large and the location is excellent.

Property is under new management and premises are undergoing refurbishment. The room we had was excellent but no restaurant and no bar . Very few staff but the staff available very helpful. Half hotel refurb done but long way to go.

Ok, but will be better when refurbishment all done

The hotel is currently being refurbished, so we expected some disruption. The restaurant wasn’t open for service in the evening. Our superior room was newly appointed, clean and comfortable with balcony view of the river and countryside. Large and clean bathroom. No complaints there. On the downside, there was only one person on reception, the WiFi didn’t work in the room and the cooked breakfast used poor quality sausages.
