Not sure how this place is getting 10/10 because it was definitely not even a 5. Upon checking in there was not that warm comfortable feeling you should get from staff, which reviews are saying are top notch. Then our room had a light that flickered like it was possessed, the desk leg was so loose we had to push the chair against it to prevent it from falling. Now as for the “Breakfast buffet” which people are claiming to be the best in St Augustine that’s a joke. We got up early for this and we were very disappointed. There was no meat, no pancakes and really nothing that was impressive. The cook told me they only do meat and pancakes during the week and not weekends. So I guess the weekend guests are not as important as the weekly guests. I think this place is using the credit it received from previous owners which is not proper. All in all I wil not stay here again and definitely do not recommend to anyone. Very poor!!!

The front desk told me that it would be a full breakfast and it was not. We were told pancakes, eggs, sausage and toast. Got up the next morning and on serving eggs, biscuit and gravy. Was told that they don't serve meat on the weekends and that's crazy. The front desk staff was nice but could not provide much we waited about 2 hours for towels and wash rags. There are no phones in the rooms so you have to call from your cell phone and they don't answer the phone. We will never visit here again

Negativo: Habitaciones viejas, la tele no es inteligente, toallas viejas, luces blancas. Te cobran el uso del estacionamiento al aire libre ( increíble) El desayuno es espantoso. the area was certainly pet friendly. But since we don't travel with pets, that was not a plus for us. The breakfast was ok, but not anything special. Considering the cost of the stay and the time of year, it was a bargain in every way. We would stay there again, and hope that our breakfast experience was not the way it was this time.

Breakfast used to be stellar when it was Southern Oaks - since changing management the breakfast is basically just a continental style breakfast. Excellent cheese grits, seasoned, breakfast potatoes, fresh eggs, sausage bacon, several juice options, and the ability to make waffles for breakfast were all the things that we loved. They still make eggs but it's not the same. None of the other options were available when we. We used to leave there with satisfied kids with bellies full of hot and filling breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast was the winning point that always kept us coming back to stay at this hotel time after time. I can say they at least had biscuits and gravy as a hot option but unfortunately my kids don't eat that.

Rooms were basic. No stopper for the bathtub. Toilet seat loose and slow flush. Noisy during the day as I as I assume they were working on rooms nearby? No snacks or items you may have forgotten room. 1 washcloth. But the staff we met were very friendly. I guess since it was bacically just a place to sleep it was effective.

From the front desk attendant to the van driver, everyone was very nice and accommodating. Stayed one night just for a quick trip to enjoy the Night of Lights. Room was clean and area around the motel was quiet. For the price it was a great stay. And had a nice breakfast in the morning.

The room was ok.It was a basic clean old motel that has been redone. The grounds had places for the dogs. There were a lot of things to do in the area. It felt a bit crowded, even. The worst thing for which I feel like giving them a worse grade was the noise. Sound proofing was nil and there was a group of people who left their kids to roam around making all kinds of noises. This continued until after midnight, so my husband hiked to the front desk and asked the attendant for help. The attendant was dismissive and said it was "just kids". There finally was an older woman who told them to settle down and it got quieter. At 4 am, some adult males were loud outside our room and knocked loudly on our door. I could see the shadow of his feet outside our door. My guess was it was tthe parents of the unsupervised minors home from partying. This was downright scary. I think hotels should have hours of quiet that are expected and that employees need to realize how unpleasant it is to have noise outside your room when you are eeding sleep.
