"The lack of hospitality and training at the front desk was a huge disappointment. Had the person who checked us in warned us in advance about construction (of the infinity pool, which we assumed was the only pool) that obstructed our use of the sliding glass door, bothered to let us know that there was more than one parking lot option if the lot was overfull, told us where to find the main pool, or even smiled, it could have changed the whole tone of our stay. We were told we had a first floor room, then given a key and told to go the furthest building and go up the stairs to the 2nd (??) floor. Obviously we knew not to take the stairs. But once inside, I was shocked to find out that paying extra for Riverside over Cityside was a waste. I was told later that Riverside meant only thay it was quieter and nothing else was guaranteed. This was after I waited on hold for the front desk for 28 minutes before hanging up and walking 6 buildings to speak to someone in person. Later when we came back from our event, the only parking was at the restaurant, 6 buildings away from ours. I quipped as I walked by the front desk that motorcycle parking might be helpful with the lack of parking and so many motorcycles taking up spots and was told this was normal and there were 3 total lots I should have used. This info would have been useful at check in at 3pm, not at 10pm in the dark in a new city. Before check out, we noticed the main pool we were never told about. Overall disappointed."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane Downtown

"We were in town for a concert at the Pavilion, which is only about 5 min drive away, so pretty close. The hotel was clean, staff is great- helpful and friendly, and the entrance doors are locked so it is secure. Pet friendly and very affordable pet fees, which is so helpful on a trip out of town. We enjoyed the rainfall shower head and used the iron and iron board, which was great to have. Breakfast was good, clean and kept stocked, the kids love making those waffles! The only cons were that parking was tricky with people double parking and lot full at night. also the large group of unhoused encampment across the street at 7-11 kept me up until 2 AM with loud music and yelling. Followed by a group rock fight in the main road at 4 am when I had to take my dogs out. That was pretty wild and stressful. Hotel staff have security and monitor the property, which is probably why I never saw any one messing around on hotel property or in the parking lot. On site, it is not an issue for people, cars or personal property. My 2nd night, I was so tired, I slept through anything going on outside."

"The hotel has tried hard to revamp this older hotel, unfortunately the black and red interior color leaving feeling quite gloomy. The hotel is supposed to to be smoke free, but the room we were given reeks heavily of smoke. Upon request they did move us to a new room. It was marginally better, but still had a stale old cigerett smoke. The hotel is conveniently located, but will choose a different location for my next trip to Spokane."

"I don't understand why they would have a kitchen facility without any pots, pans, plates and utensils. Are you so worried that guests will steal them? You could have a fee for guests to rent what they need for their stay and wash them up before they leave. Having the large fridge and freezer was great seeing we had food with us in a cooler. But we couldn't fix anything."

"The hotel is located in a rundown area, and the photos don't accurately reflect what you actually get. My daughter did not feel safe staying there, so I asked if we could move to their sister hotel and offered to pay any difference in price. Despite both properties being owned by the same company, they declined to accommodate the request. I found that response disappointing and felt it reflected poor customer service. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations."

"This was definitely a bargain. This Comfort Inn location is clean, well maintained and comfortable. I stayed with my dog and she was just as happy with the place (She has been very nervous on this road trip). Absolutely will be staying again if I overnight in Spokane again."
