Schluchsee is next to the largest reservoir lake in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. It is popular for boat trips, fishing and nature walks. Hike along the entire length of the shoreline to appreciate stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The shoreline walk is about 11 miles (18 kilometers) long and is suitable for families.
Stay in Todtnau for skiing in the winter and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. The enchanting ski resort town features wonderful attractions, including historic buildings, old farmhouses and one of the tallest natural waterfalls in Germany. Todtnau is also about 9 miles (14 kilometers) from Feldberg, an imposing forested mountain.
