"The property was nothing like the photos advertised. It felt run down and lacked the atmosphere of a true resort. Our bathroom had ants on the counter and sink, and the room door had a large gap underneath that we had to block with a towel each night. Around the walkways, cockroaches were a common sight, which made the stay uncomfortable. The front desk staff gave the impression that they weren’t very interested in helping, though the cleaning staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Another inconvenience was the key system: only one key card is provided per room, and it must be handed in at the front desk every time you leave. The electricity is tied to the key card, meaning the air conditioning only runs when you’re inside. I had to specifically request a workaround so the AC could stay on while we were out. Overall, the experience was disappointing. We left after two nights despite booking three, and didn’t mind losing the money—that’s how strongly we felt about not staying longer. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property or return in the future. My daughter loved all the cats around the grounds. "

The food was amazing every time, and the pools were so much fun and always very clean. Traveling with my family made the experience even more special, and this hotel made our trip unforgettable. "From we arrived you could the quality of The Sands, it's beautifully laid out with manicured lawns, water features and a large fish pond. We had a swim up room which was large, clean and very comfortable, the only downside of the room was that the terrace was in the shade for the majority of the day, if you want one of these rooms request one that has sun most of the day. The site is almost split in two with quieter side that had an adult only pool and family pool with bar, then the other side has a mini water park for the kids with a number slides, fun water play and a lazy river. At breakfast there's a great choice catering to all nationalities and tastes, we didn't eat at the hotel at night but speaking to people who had it sounded very good. The staff are fantastic, always polite and friendly, nothing is to much trouble. Whether you want a family holiday, with plenty to entertain the kids, or a restful time from work or touring Thailand then The Sands is a great choice "

"The resort is next to some nasty smelling rotting trash. You will have to plug your nose walking down to the breakfast area. The food was ok but the foul stenches around the property make it hard to enjoy food. The beach is disappointing. It’s a pond and no real beachfront. Also sketchy looking murky water. No waves. Nothing. The pool is nice but the tiles were dirty, missing in many spots and kids in the adult pool. Bandages floating everywhere too. Bed is like a rock. Uncomfortable. Worth the $80 tho. Private pool access is nice too. Don’t drink the water! Not even for brushing teeth! "

"The airport shuttle and transport were very convenient and nearby! Great place to stay if you have a late or early morning arrival and are waiting to check in to another hotel. "
