"Given the wrong room in arrival waiting 20m while they will clean a room which was not the one we book. Helpful at the front desk to change for the room we did book. Unable to leave luggage for longer than 4h A disappointed experience"

"Service was incredibly slow in the restaurant and on the front desk (available staff were very nice but overworked, whole hotel felt understaffed). We paid a significant amount for a sea view which we didn’t receive. Wouldn’t stay here again."

"The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was really superb, it was one of the best English Breakfasts I have had at any hotel. Rooms are clean, but a little bit dated. I would be happy to stay again. Thanks to the management & staff for a lovely stay."

"Perfectly positioned hotel, right by the sea front, a big car park opposite and 2 minutes into town! Our room was clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and happy"

"A perfectly placed hotel for exploring Bournemouth beaches. The restaurant was nice not huge selection but nice and freshly cooked. Breakfast was a good mix. Staff were fantastic. Especially Holly at front desk- she was so friendly and kind. Gave us tips to get to the best part of a beach nearby saving us loads of time and stress. Helped us get extra pillows for the room. The superior room was really lovely , clean and air conditioned was perfect for heat wave ! Will def stay here again when we return to Bournemouth"

The Burlington Hotel

"I am writing to express my disappointment with how our recent room allocation was handled. In February, we made one booking for two rooms while travelling with friends, so we expected the rooms to be close together. I contacted the hotel on 18 February to request adjacent rooms and again on 1 March regarding early check-in, but received no response to either email. At check-in, we understood that early access was unavailable. However, we were disappointed to learn that our friends’ room was on a different floor and far from ours. Despite our earlier requests, no effort appeared to have been made to accommodate us, and reception advised that no changes were possible due to the hotel being fully booked. As someone with previous hotel industry experience, I believe this situation could have been avoided with better room allocation planning. Overall, I found the handling of our request unprofessional and disappointing."

Bournemouth East Cliff by Belvilla

"Outside of hotel very shabby, inside looked a lot nicer. No facilities such as catering and spa etc all had to used at their sister hotel next door. Offered sea view room at additional cost, which we did not require. When we got to our room it had a sea view anyway. Room was a good size and clean and comfortable. Parking on site offered as available on arrival yes parking available at £20 per day, no fee was mentioned in the advert, so would have been nice to know in advance, no reduction for guests staying at hotel…"

Harbour Hotel Brighton

"Stayed at Harbour Hotel Brighton for my partner’s 30th birthday and honestly left disappointed. We arranged for a bottle of champagne and strawberries to be waiting in the room on arrival. Instead, we were delivered a warm bottle of Prosecco and told the champagne would arrive the next day. Despite mentioning it multiple times throughout the stay, it never appeared. The biggest issue though was the condition of the rooms. The first room was dirty, tired, and poorly maintained. Stains throughout the carpets, marks on furniture, rusty shower fittings, dirty skirting boards, grimy areas around the bathroom, and general lack of upkeep. We were moved to another room, but even that had stains all over the carpet and still felt worn out and neglected. To make matters worse, we received no housekeeping service until we specifically asked for it. The spa experience was mixed. My partner’s facial was apparently lovely, and the staff themselves were polite whenever we spoke to them, but the spa area also looked tired and poorly maintained. I also came out in a rash after using the hot tub, which made me question whether the chemical balance was being properly monitored. Despite booking a £100 treatment, there was still an extra £10 charge just to use the spa facilities, which felt a bit cheap for a hotel positioning itself as four-star luxury. This doesn’t seem like bad luck either — after looking through Google reviews, there are plenty of photos showing very similar room conditions."
