We had an amazing stay at the surf lodge! Super friendly staff, delicious breakfast options included. The hotel rooms were impeccable clean. Nice pool area to relax. The surf breaks was pumping!!!! Take lessons with Parallel Surf - 100% recommended. Gonna be back soon!

My second time staying at this place! Great energy from the moment you arrive. The team is friendly and on point. Fresh juices every morning, green everywhere you look, and the beach is right there...not to mention those great longboard waves this time around! Easy and fast ride to POP airport. Best last minute booking ever! From the moment I arrived I instantly felt a good vibe. The team is super attentive and makes you feel right at home. There is so much attention to detail you can tell a lot of love went into designing this property. The a la carte breakfast is delicious and fresh, produce from their own permaculture garden is used, how cool?! Just a 5-minute walk to the beach along a cute little pathway. My only regret is not staying longer...What a place!!!

We've just returned from a stay at El Encuentro Surf Lodge and honestly we're already thinking about when we can go back. This place was recommended by friends who are frequent guests and now we completely understand why. Our room was spacious with a beautiful interior, and the whole property is exceptionally well maintained. Breakfast was a highlight every single morning, fresh and delicious, and every meal at the restaurant was just as good. The staff are warm and make you feel like family from day one truly some of the most welcoming people we've met on our travels. And if you're travelling with little ones, this place is absolutely family friendly. We extended our stay and we're so glad we did. Do yourself a favor and book it!

I truly enjoyed my stay the property was well kept, the staff was on point The restaurants breakfast and overall menu was very good There’s also Coconuts about a 7 minute walk from the lodge at Hideaways resort Quicker to get to through the beach then the road The lodge is a great place for families, within walking distance to the beach Plenty of places to eat and relax in the area Parellel Surf across from the lodge is the bomb! Try the cold plunge if you dare! Game changer after a few days of surfing The surfing was fun but only good from sunrise to about 11A for beginners at this time of year If your into kite surfing it’s a plus If you’re a more experienced surfer there were other spots to hit but limited I would definitely recommend the lodge and hope to come back when the waves are bigger Over all I had an amazing trip Bring bug spray the mosquitos are relentless at night lol Can’t wait to go back, miss it already!!!

Our family had a wonderful stay at El Encuentro Surf Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the entire staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with fresh, high-quality options that gave us the perfect start to the day. One of the highlights of our trip was the surf school. The instructors were professional, patient, and fantastic with both adults and children, making the experience enjoyable and rewarding for everyone. The location is simply stunning. Playa Encuentro is one of the most beautiful surf beaches we have visited, with consistent waves, a relaxed atmosphere, and breathtaking ocean views. Despite feeling like a peaceful tropical escape, the lodge is only about 20 minutes from Puerto Plata Airport, making travel incredibly easy and convenient. We highly recommend El Encuentro Surf Lodge to families looking for a combination of relaxation, adventure, and genuine hospitality. We can't wait to return.
