Luxury… of a Bygone Era
If you're looking to travel back in time to 1997, this condo might be your portal. The condo was spacious, clean, and decorated by grandma. Imagine doilies, dried flowers, an array of crafty wall art, and personal photos from the last 30 years. It's not so much “vintage” as it is “hasn't been updated because why mess with the style everyone loves?” The underpowered microwave was the original from 1997.
Now, for those brave enough to scale the near-vertical stairs to the loft: congratulations—you’ve passed your ninja warrior training. Air conditioning? Oh no, according to the management, “it's not needed in the mountains". The loft was hot and stuffy, with only one low window that opens to an enclosed staircase. One fan provided was loud, and the other was inefficient. The mattresses were lumpy, and one of the bed frames offered a squeak symphony with every movement.
As for amenities provided with the huge property fee: the pool and hot tub were technically there. Covered like hidden treasures, we had no idea we were supposed to uncover them ourselves. The game room, meanwhile, was the teens’ personal lair until it suddenly displayed a mysterious "closed for cleaning" sign. Each day, we tried to speak to the management near the pool, but the door was locked and no one appeared to be inside.
And finally, the listing claimed “luxury rental.” If square footage alone was luxury, then yes—this was a palatial estate but for other comforts, you'll need to manage your expectations.
