The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The owner was very nice and personable and the dinner was fantastic. We loved watching the animals drinking by the water hole.

We stayed here for one night. We had a lovely time there. The setting is an old bakery and this makes for a very interesting and unusual hotel where they have incorporated aspects of the old bakery. Having said that the amenities were excellent with very comfortable, clean and lovely rooms in individual bungalows. Breakfast and the evening meal were also excellent. Like many lodges in Namibia it is very isolated although it was easy to find. We also used the swimming pool which was great.

A picturesque eco friendly place

The scale system used by hotels.com doesnt do Alte Kalfoken lodge justice. It's a beautiful property, surrounded by nothing but the beautiful nature and wildlife of Namibia (Sure, theres a train track beside the property, but there aren't any trains running through. The staff are lovely, the scenery is picturesque and the food is amazing. If you're even considering staying in the Keetmanshoop area, skip it and drive a bit further to Alte Kalfoken. You will not regret it.

Tolle Lodge in einsamer Gegend. Sehr individuell mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Sehr netter Gastgeber und sehr gute Küche. Es gibt ein gut besuchtes Wasserloch, was man von der Restaurantterrasse gut beobachten kann. Man kann eine Wanderung auf dem Farmgelände machen mit Tiersichtungen. Und es gibt eine große Sammlung lebendiger Steine ( Lithops). Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrade bekommen auf ein ganzes Häuschen mit Küche und Livingroom. Danke!

Wunderschöne kleine Häuschen mit allem, was man braucht . Herzlichen Dank für die nette Betreuung! Speziell an Yanko ! Und an Frikkie für die traumhafte Sundowner Fahrt. Und das Essen muss erwähnt werden: super! Und die phantastische Natur ringsherum. Wir freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen!

Unique Experience

Excellent food, beautifully presented and very friendly staff and owners. The property is interesting and unique. The lithoparium is bizarre and educational. A very interesting place to stay which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Sehr interessante Lodge, ganz spezielles schönes Ambiente. Nett für einen Spaziergang an den Bahngleisen entlang. Großzügige Zimmer, sehr nettes Personal, ausgesprochen gute Küche. Das Abendessen (festes Menü) einfach ein Traum
