Disappointed Stay – Room Not As Booked & Poor Service
We attempted to check in at 6:40 p.m., only to be told our room wasn’t ready. When I returned at 7:30 p.m., we were given a completely different room than what I booked. I had specifically paid extra for a room with a patio and courtyard view, but was told by the front desk clerk that they were sold out and there was nothing she could do. Instead, I was directed to call Expedia, who ended up talking to the hotel clerk and I was told by Expedia staff that the hotel was offering a $50 refund for the inconvenience.
To make matters worse, the hotel is undergoing renovations, which came with unpleasant smells and construction mess throughout the property. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that didn’t match expectations or the price paid.
