"The hotel is a very old building so you have to expect creaky and uneven floorboards, etc. It certainly adds to the characteristics of the hotel.
There are also various different staircases, easy to get lost! Lol.
Our room was on 3rd floor, family room. Was very clean (even on top of mirrors - i did the dust test! Lol). Some toiletries provided together with towels.
Plenty of tea/coffee provided and a kettle. Iron in drawers and fan was hidden away in cupboard. The fan didn't function too good (it was much needed due to heatwave) but after cleaning the blades, functioned great!
NO Iron in room but did see an iron and iron board on the landing whilst getting lost in the hotel.
Beds were clean and comfy but as the old style metal frames, did squeak quite a bit!
The 1st car park you come to is extremely tight to drive into and park, mainly cos others do not park correctly! There is an overflow car park with plenty more easy parking. However, I expected the parking to be free to hotel guests but had to pay £5 per night. Still cheaper than a public car park.
Great location,
No breakfast available but great cafe over the road called Cafe on the Cop, highly recommended.
We would definitely return to this hotel"
