"What an unexpectedly seamless stay! There was a shuttle bus that met us at the Shinkansen station that took us to the Onsen. When we arrived, we were ushered to a comfortable lobby for check-in. The bellman showed us the entire hotel and onsen, and walked us through our kimonos and slippers. Lovely breakfast, lovely rooms, lovely Onsen... and another free shuttle back to the Shinkansen station. We will definitely return! "

"Beautiful setting! For being in a car-centric area it’s not too far from the train/bus. There’s a huge new roadside stop with restaurants, gift shop, and other amenities next door. Lots of overnighters in their vans there - adds to the safety in the area. A PLANT right next door for shopping and the city park across the street. Amazing!"

"Stayed here in Spring, which I suspect is a whole different ballgame to Winter. Location was great as we did not have a car. As others note it’s a steep hill to walk up but it’s not long. With many restaurants closed at this time of year having breakfast onsite and the option of buffet dinner at the restaurant was brilliant. The hot baths were great too. "The beds cover and bed sheet slide off in the night with movement, which was bothersome. The staff was very kind. Area had limited food options. Overall the rooms were clean and people were kind. "

"I have visited this property four times since 2012. The hotel is beautifully nestled in the forest and lit up with pin lights, the rooms are lovely and spacious and come with a deep plunge bath. It is convenient to walk to the slopes, on the main shuttle service and one can walk to surrounding restaurants, bars and ski rentals. But what stands this hotel apart is the impeccable service from the amazing staff. During ski season they lay out your warm ski/boarding boots at the door, and they help you get transportation to the lifts. At the end of the day they greet you at the door with a smile, take your wet gear and swap back your warm personal shoes. There is a lovely lobby for an apre glass of wine and a fireplace for roasting marshmallows. They help you find reservations to dinner and help you sort transportation to and from. I travel globally for work and leisure, from the smiles to the can-do, and truly helping guest I have found rare a team that could exceed in provincially my an amazing experience. "Hallways smelt poorly, carpets are stained throughout the facility. We got the 4 person japanese room (only 2 in the room) and it was adeqaute for us. Outdoor tub included with room can only hold two people, food included with half board was buffet style and wasn't very good, however had a decent selection of western, japanese and chinese cuisines."
