"The Grand Hotel is the real deal. The history hits you the moment you walk in, the bones are beautiful, and the location delivers what it promises. If you want a property with genuine character and a real sense of place, this is it.
That said, we had to cut our stay short. There was active construction going on that was never mentioned at booking, and finding out at check-in is not how a hotel at this level should operate. The staff, to their credit, handled it well and took care of a full refund without any hassle, which I appreciated.
Worth noting on location: it’s great for soaking in what the hotel is all about, but if you want to step outside and be right in the middle of the city action, you might find yourself doing a bit more traveling than expected. Not a dealbreaker, just good to know going in.
The reputation here is earned and I’d come back. Sort out the guest communication around construction and this is a five-star experience without question. For now, a strong four."
