Perfect room for our family of four, clean and spacious. Comfy beds and nice toiletries. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Kids were given an activity pack. The pub is very charming. Beautiful surroundings. Plenty of parking.
The Grove Arms served my needs for that particular stay. I was going to be out and about most of the time so just needed somewhere convenient . The property had recently been taken over so I suspect the new owners are still to put their own stamp on it. I had a friendly greeting and the check-in was fine aside from a question over amounts already paid (an Expedia issue, tut tut).
The room was in decent order, with sheets and towels crisp, clean and white. There were a few areas that could do with a bit of maintenance or a tidy up but on the whole good value for money. I only ate breakfast there so for £10 there was cereals etc, but I just had the full english (sausage, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 hash browns, beans and mushrooms, may have been black pudding too) toast and fresh coffee. No complaints at all with the breakfast. The car park at the back had plenty of space with easy access to the guest rooms through a locked back door.
The road at the front can be quite noisy but not so bad at night. I would stay again.
I was really not impressed with the stay we experienced for the money I didn’t get the correct room as I had a family room I paid for and when I got their they had two single beds when I paid for three people not 2 i expressed concern with the staff member they gave us a fold out bed with no quilt so this morning have woke up frozen and disgusted with this and would like a rrfund
When we got there the manager said we owed money in which i had to show my reciept paid in full the hotel said full english breakfast all was there 2 cartons of opened juice cereals tea coffee toast very bad considering theyre advertising breakfast the windows you couldnt lock. The room smelt damp The light in the bathroom kept flicking on and off everything was dusty in the room and blood stain on the wall The grove arms isnt telling the truth the steps into the back building are a death trap decking steps the car park not enough security and lighting plus the central heating was turned off when i think weve paid 100 pounds to stay there we should be entitled to put it on when we want to No management on site to speak to during the night very very dissapointed with the room and Expierence there claim AA **** which isnt the case i would like a refund as it was a poor establishment was not worth the money we paid expedia clearly havent checked the hotel out never a 4 *
