We stayed at the Wilderness at the Smokies Stone Hill Lodge in Servierville. The property is beautiful and the staff is excellent. We did encounter a few problems. First they need more handicapped rooms. But two, the rooms with 2 queens need to have higher toilets in the bathroom! They sit way too low especially for the older adults. In fact, my handicapped husband could not get up from that toilet and we had to call for help with was extremely embarrassing to my husband. You really also need to have toilet risers,(not the ones that fit in the toilet, but is over the toilet with arms attached.
Okay for the excellent part. I want to recognize and thank so very much for all their help, is the lifeguards and first aid staff, Zachery, Kolby and another who I don’t know his name, but Zachary should know. These young men did a fantastic job with helping my husband. Zachary and the other young man, helped my husband get into the lazy river using the lift. Somehow my husband lost his footing and start to go under. I panicked but they jumped in and made sure he was safe and ok. I can’t thank them enough. Then that evening is when my husband could not get up off the low toilet and it was Zachary and Kolby who came to his rescue! All 3 of these guys deserve a raise and the biggest recognition you can give them them! Thank you to all 3 of these men you are truly life savers!
