「Complicated self check-in with several security codes. No one on site to assist. Local phone number not helpful for international travelers. Worst is the smell of the rooms... musty, basement rooms... left window open, blew fan AC all night which made it slightly better. Would NOT recommend. 」

「One of the most unique and charming places I have ever stayed. It is a living arts museum as much as a guest house. The main rooms, the bedrooms each have art from the original owner within. It was a joy to stay in, I wish we had been there for more than one night and would return again. One note - as I am not sure Expedia made it clear is that there are shared bathrooms and a shared lounge and kitchen. We didn’t mind that at all - but it is something to be aware of. 」

「Absolutely stunning, historic property. Exceeds expectation. If you like Four Seasons, this far outshines. Property, accommodations, staff, and location are outstanding. We stayed in beautiful hotels in Portugal--this one is far/away the finest. Location is in the center of the historic, beautiful, charming village, which cannot be missed for meals, strolling, photos, etc. Highly recommend making the trip to the Arouca Geo Park for the Paiva Walkways and the suspension pedestrian...

「The room is large, the bathroom facilities are good, with good water pressure shower head. If there is refrigerator inside the room, that will be wonderful. The hotel is very close to tourist spots. 」
