Faultless stay — we’ll definitely be back!
I honestly couldn't find a single thing to complain about; everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. The property itself is excellent and exceptionally well maintained.
Our room was wonderfully spacious and bright, but the real highlight was the incredible views—both right from our window and looking out toward the nearby castle.
We had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back again in the future!
Amazing place to stay and experience the living in a palace on top of a castle, beautiful views. Room was not that cold so sleeping was very difficult for me.
Everything was lovely and Anna at reception was welcoming and effecient . The view was outstanding and location by the historic fortress and church was an added bonus. Lovely breakfast buffet included with the accommodation. Highly recommend this wonderful property.
Fantastic historic hotel right next to the Palmela castle. The rooms are big and we had a 2nd floor corner room which meant we had double the panoramic views.
Breakfast was great with a huge choice of meats / cheeses / pastries / fruit / eggs etc and staff were very attentive.
The only down point was the cost of the bar - €3.50 for a very small glass of beer was outrageous - no wonder there were no people in there! The pricing of everything else was as you would expect for a nice hotel, so the bar pricing was unexpected.
The hotel is only 40-45 minutes for Lisbon airport, so this makes a great stop either at the start or end of your visit to Portugal and I'm sure we'll be back.
Service was good but uneven. There are moments when they were extremely helpful, and moments when they didn’t seem to want to be bothered. Still an amazing experience overall. Can’t beat the setting or location.
It’s a real treat staying here. What a fun place to stay, a hotel that is part of a 15th C castle. The facilities are great. The tavern on the property had excellent food. The rooms are spacious and very nice.
Superbe historical property that can be visited, with a beautiful view on the surrounding town and countryside

Incredibly helpful people at front desk. Nice breakfast, clean room, but the front doors are hard to open/close and flummox everyone who comes comes through them. Closed back on me and nearly hit me in the face.
This hotel was incredible. Great property to walk around but what really made it stand out was the staff. The host that greeted us (Ana Maia) was incredible. Went way above and beyond to help us print boarding passes. She was so friendly, helpful and did everything she could to make sure our stay was felt special.
A truly enjoyable experience. Great staff, breakfast, suites and overall hotel are a historic piece of heaven! You won't want to leave. There is enough to relax, explore and enjoy in the castle grounds/hotel. I worked while the family checked everything out. It was unforgettable!
