「My initial lower review was based on initial impression of the room and room only. The staff could not have been any better or more attentive. Some of the absolute best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Especially from Alice, Isabella, and Leonardo. I responded to email from Expedia about first impressions. The management staff at Casa du Lac reached out to me for feedback. I met with Guest Experience Manager Alice to explain. She was extremely receptive to my issues with the room and...

「The view from this room was really pretty overlooking the lake. It is just up the hill from the train station and the town so easily walkable. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the host was very communicative. We were able to drop our luggage off at a sister property as we arrived earlier than the 2 o’clock check-in and didn’t want to tote everything up and down the hills. The balconies were an added bonus.」

「We chose to spend a night here for our honeymoon. The hotel provides a very convenient—and free—shuttle service, which is incredibly thoughtful given that Varenna is a town nestled on a hillside. They can pick you up and drop off anytime from either the train station or the ferry pier ! The location is also perfect—right across from the church and just a short walk to the romantic lakeside path. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us with warm hospitality and pleasantly surprised us with a room...

「We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it could not have been more perfect! The property is gorgeous and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The location is very quiet, private and peaceful, but there are still some great restaurants within walking distance and it was very easy to hop on the bus to visit other towns during our stay. There’s also a private terrace with a jacuzzi which we really enjoyed. We also cannot say enough good things about Arianna and the rest of the staff! Our original...

「There are ants inside the toilet. And the shower place is not fully covered so water would spill out which makes the toilet floor very wet. Also there is no lift ,need to climb up stairs to reach the room. Although the host is very kind to come down to pick us up and point us to the room directly, so we don’t need to go higher up to the reception to do the check in. Check in time is strict and reception is not 24 hours open. The view however is amazing, the top floor with the restaurant...
