Positives: The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The food, and servers were excellent. We enjoyed starting our days in the restaurant, and enjoying the patio dining in the evenings- we didn't even think of dining elsewhere, since the food was so fabulous! The front desk staff were very helpful, except for our arrival. A smile and pleasant attitude goes a long way. Instead, we were treated as if we were an inconvenience (we had arrived very early, and simply wanted to know our options, if any). The valet attendants were always attentive and helpful- we really appreciated them. Areas for Improvement: Some of the hostesses in the garden area were non-smiling, too. While they were probably just busy, it comes across as aloof and non-friendly. It was the same ones day after day- some were friendly, some not at all. I learned that the universal greeting of good will is always just a smile. Last of all, we had asked for additional coffee pods and were given one extra which was not helpful. Considerations: Consider a way to greet new arrivals who often arrive tired and frazzled. Also, I recommend valet attendants offer water (both chilled and non-chilled) as an amenity. It would add a touch of class and graciousness to the services provided. In Conclusion: The pros definitely outweighed the cons and we would stay again if we ever find ourselves in the Seattle area. The location is ideal, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the food is 5-Star!

The owners of the hotel have done an amazing job bringing life back to a 100+ year old gem of a property. The restaurant and downstairs lounge/ fireplace area call back to a charm of years gone by when care was put into the decor and furnishings of places. The rooms can be a bit spartan but are clean and very comfortable. The area around the hotel is near hospitals so there is a bit of noise and character to the neighborhood but you can still get around to some great shops and restaurants if you don't mind some hills.

This property is super old. The hotel shower was tiny, the toilet barely slushed and there was not fridge in the room. We could hear every car that drove by and there are a lot of cars, birds, planes, etc. best thing was the bed- it was super comfortable. There were also a lot of dining options on the property.

The property was dated. Only one restaurant/bar open during our stay. The hotel had no gift shop for purchase's. We had a short walk when we needed to buy some snacks and first aid supplies. The property only had one elevator and was very small. Only three people at a time was the recommended occupancy. The room had a portable air conditioner. We stayed on one of Seattle's warmest weeks. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Stella was the only restaurant pen however, both breakfast and dinner were good. The hotel has a nice look and vibe to it. Being built in 1908 it has a certain charm. Upon checking out we still haven't received our final receipt.

We loved the property and staff. Hotel was beautiful in the main lobby. Excellent food in Stella. Staff was exceptional. Rooms were clean and well appointed with the exception of a/c not cooling the living room and bedroom area properly so it was considerably warm. I will be returning.

Beautiful hotel in a great location to walk downtown or to the University. Highly recommend eating outside at the restaurant, the food was amazing and the courtyard is so pretty. Jess at reception was so helpful and the valet parking was a great, hassle-free option. We will be back!
