Very convenient location for going up Scafell Pike, with beautiful surroundings. Great staff who are very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and dinner options, including vegan and vegetarian.

Fantastic setting, and a building full of character. Staff were very helpful, breakfast was basic but substantial. I'm quite tall and so struggle with YHA beds generally , but had a decent night's sleep. The manager's two collies in the hostel were gorgeous.

Great view outside the hostel, it’s right at the lake and it is a breathtaking view. Staff that helped us out were very friendly. Excellent stay, excellent price and very good location from scaffel pike.

Incredible hostel
Stayed for one night and the hostel was incredible. The staff are incredibly friendly and the local area is lovely. Highly recommended for walkers/hikers or a stop off in the Lakes. The breakfast was brilliant and at a reasonable price. The rooms were also fantastic - way above your average hostel.

Beautiful views
As the title says... beautiful view over wastwater lake... with easy access to start of scafell pike!! And if you go for a leisurely stroll next to the lake, you might find a swing that can create sooo much fun!!! Iphone was unable to connect to the cloud, so no mobile phone to share the beautiful views with!! Overall very pleasant stay!!!

Great base to explore the western lakes
The hostel is situated in a rather elegant and historic building. Wast Water is on the doorstep. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. A great stay.
