"A very friendly welcome, they were happy to accommodate our very late (11.30pm) arrival after we travelled there on the ferry. The owners have recently taken it over and in the last few weeks completed an overhaul of the bar/restaurant area which looks lovely. We didn't try the evening meals but the breakfasts were phenomenal, a proper Scottish breakfast that really sets you up for the day. We were very impressed with the help of Gillian, her daughters, and Matti, although there were many others who were of great assistance during our stay. The food here is truly memorable. Every meal is a wonderful feast. The sitting room and superb grounds are everything you’d imagine in a destination Country Inn."

"The hotel was nice. The food at the Brassels was better than the Cruzerie (?). The hotel was pet friendly. The rooms were a great size and comfortable. Unfortunately, we couldn't do much as you have to book everything in advance. We were not aware that you had to plan ahead."

"The stay at the hotel was very nice, in quiet rooms, decorated in a style out of the 80’s, complete with a rotary dialed phone! The property has views onto the bay directly in front of you, which were lovely, and seating for outside viewing as well. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were small but adequate. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the restaurant as well. Dinners were also eaten in the restaurant, and the staff members were super sweet, with the exception of the head hostess/waiter who was pretty rude. Whether she didn’t know etiquette or merely had no idea of proper behavior, we were very displeased with her service. And it appeared as if the waiters and waitresses were afraid of her as well. She was very harsh. The food was lovely though and we sloughed off the distraction by her, but it was not appreciated!"
