"This was even better than I could have imagined! Beautiful apartment, so modern and updated. Everything in town was walkable. Great conversations with the host to understand some tourist benefits better. Tried the German train system some before our planned train trip the following week, made us more comfortable and saved us so much time on a Sunday excursion we would have otherwise driven to. "This hotel was further from Cochem than we hoped for. I booked two rooms for one night at least four months in advance requesting large windows that open. We got one room with a very tiny window only, and one room with a medium size window. The staff was very nice and apologized for not meeting my request saying "they didn't know how this happened". The hotel was full that weekend. At least the windows opened. Also, our room had a terrible smell. Apparently, the drain pipe in the middle of the bathroom floor was the culprit. The lady at the desk poured some cleaner down the drain with a few buckets of water. We then covered the drain with a towel and went to the store to get a car scent hanger to place on top. We went to the restaurant for dinner and waited an hour and a half for our meal. They were very busy that night and apparently not prepared for the weekend (May Day). The meal was nice in spite of the wait. The most positive aspect of our experience was the woman at the desk who tried her best to fix things for us. "

"This is a wonderful hotel set on a hill next to the vineyards … family run, their attention to detail shone everywhere. Check-in was pleasant and efficient. Our room was large and clean, as was the up-to-date bathroom attached. We had a small balcony off our room that was perfect to sit with a cold drink after arrival (though there are plenty of additional welcoming spots both inside and outside the hotel). We have enjoyed a fabulous dinner that evening in their on-site restaurant- the stuffed zucchini was one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had and the white asparagus was amazing. Breakfast was also quite good and the staff did an excellent job keeping everything filled and tables cleaned. Highly recommend!"

"As if being in a castle isn’t awesome enough, the staff is so friendly, accommodating and helpful. The grounds and rooms were exceptional. Gorgeous. The restaurant for dinner had amazing food and service. I honestly can’t say enough about this property. Two thumbs up, 5 stars, whatever best ratings I can possibly give for a hotel - I bestow upon this hotel. You absolutely MUST stay here, even if for just a day. It’s totally worth it! "

"Property is difficult to assess. On the one side Great location, new building, impressive artwork, on the other side not transparent. Room booked was executive room. First room offered was small, no sofa, etc. Claim was that a tiny balcony would make it executive. Upon request, a real executive room was granted. Twice the size and all the advertised features. Room change, wasted time and the impression that we were initially shortchanged. Then, after a long day out we come back to the room - no service. When inquiring at the front desk the young lady there showed real attitude. „You were told.“ „There are cards in the room.“ „This is for sustainability.“ We were not asking for fresh sheets. But making the bed? Cleaning up the room? This was not about sustainability. It was about saving cost. And when your shower has no door, the floor towel gets totally wet. It doesn’t dry up over the day. Again, you feel a little chiseled. Bottom line: This could be a nice hotel, but there is a palpable undercurrent of being „too cute“. At ~ $400 a night this is just ok. This is a nice hotel with a palpable undercurrent to give the guest less then what was bartered for."
